Perhaps, but you have to remember what Quaritch actually said in the start... even 'forcing their cooperation' has bad implications.

I wouldn't have done it, even for getting the ability to walk back, although I do have next to no trust for militaries anyway. I do know myself better than that.

It's really good how Jake managed to get past that though and actually REALISED he was on the wrong side... some people wouldn't do that
