Are we referring to North/South or East/West city blocks? Because in Manhattan, the city blocks are rectangle with one set of sides roughly 1/20th of a mile and the other set of sides about 1/5th to 1/10th of a mile.

It seems that a "few yards away" and "four blocks away" are a little exaggerated. According to the map, the Mosque will be roughly two to three blocks away, or roughly 500 to 800 feet away.

Not building a mosque does not mean the end of terrorism. It won't help; so why bothering in f*cking a few people who have the misfortune of believing in a faith where radicalism is a frequent issue?

Apparently it is a big deal to a couple people in this thread. I, personally, am more interested in accurate information than the value of this information to the argument.
EDIT: I am not bothered by a Mosque being built within blocks of the World Trade Center, but I can understand the sentiment of those that might consider such a proposal as the addition of "insult to injury" to the American people.

Also, this thread is getting off topic and turning into a biased, dangerous religious flame war.
