Default A Beautiful Mind. (2001)

winner of 4 Academy Awards, including best picture, adapting screenplay, best director and supporting actress. Soundtrack is composed by James Horner for me it's an epic win

I didn't really care for it the first viewing. But I watched it years later and loved it. Still, I don't think it should've won over Fellowship of the Ring.

But still a fantastic film!!

Havent seen this film! LOL gonna have to now.

Though this proves a point in a problem I have with Horner, he recycles his stuff WAY to much! I mean it would be okay if it was just a little or he was just starting to, but he has done it his whole career and it kind of bugs me. Though I do like the Avatar soundtrack (though more because it is related to Avatar) a lot.

For a while I didn't enjoy it much when I saw Horner's name in the credits. Ever since Avatar I sort of gained a bit of a respect for him back.

But if you've heard "Braveheart", "Titanic", "A Beautiful Mind", "Legends of the Fall", and "Glory"... and then watch "Bicentennial Man", you'll cry from all the stealing he does from his other music in that movie. It's like he didn't have time to even score the film and just pasted a whole bunch of tunes together with maybe 3 different notes in each cue. That's when I lost all respect for his composing ability for a while. You'll especially notice he practically plagiarized his own main theme from "A Beautiful Mind" and stuck it in the opening credits for BM.

EDIT: Hey! This is my 100th post, and it happens to bash Avatar's composer!

Bahahahahaha I cracked up at your edit! Rotfl

Yeah same with me, it just bugs me so much that he does that! Of course I'm also a big elfman fan haha! I agree though that while avatar may not be the best soundtrack it did help me to enjoy horner again and I probably listen to it so much because I remember the scenes from the movie. Haha
