Definitely its about the 'Hero's Journey', and although I probably missed a lot of your comments (which btw, could you post the link?), I guess I was thinking that as that concept has been well discussed, I was looking to come at it from a different direction, not necessarily focusing on the typical elements of the hero's journey!
Since posting this thread, though, I have switched over and started to elaborate my original thoughts (that were just emerging, when I posted this originaly) to a new thread where I want to examine the Deeper Philosophical Meanings in Avatar
