So Avatar 2 is supposedly is gonna take place several years after the first movie, so you would think that by that time Jake would be pretty darn fluent in na'vi (being the leader of the clan and with neytiri all the time).
So I'm just wondering if they will be speaking only na'vi (with english subtitles) throughout the entire sequel? I think that would be cool if that's how Cameron did it, cause it would make it more realistic, but it would also be annoying to have to read thru the whole movie. opinions?

I dunno. It would be cool to have it all in Na'vi. Maybe give me more drive to try and learn the language.
But wasn't there a movie that was all subtitled? Apocolypto maybe?

im just wondering if thats something realistic that james cameron might do in the sequel to make it more "true to life" or if hes just gonna make em all speak english even though if this were a real world situation they would all be speaking only na'vi by that time

I don't think there's going to be only Na'vi spoken. After all there are still humans on Pandora and Jake still has to interact with them. He won't 'completely' go Native, but will definitely speak more Na'vi.
I was also thinking, that with his tsa'heylu with Neytiri he would have picked up more of her intuitive knowlege of the language, and I can hardly wait to see if his passing through Eywa had an effect on him as well. Lordy it's going to be awesome! (I hope!)

No, It won't be, simply because it with alienate certain viewers who hate to watch movies with subtitles. What about those with dyslexia? Who have trouble reading that fast? Didn't think of that did you?

I'd like that, but I still think that with the humans and avatars still on Pandora, there will be English spoken too, as well as whatever happens with the RDA.

ok so we can all basically agree english will be spoken in the sequel when dealing with the RDA or the scientists and their avatar.
but do you think then that when its just Jake and Neytiri chilling with the clan that only na'vi will be spoken then? lol

Uhm guys, it would take the actors and actresses, and the guy who writes the language a loooooooooong time to film a movie completely in Na'vi...I'm happy with a 50-50 English-Na'vi by 2014 rather than a 100% Na'vi in 5-6 years...and I don't want to read that much...

Maybe we'll be shown them speaking in English, but in the reality of the film they'll actually be speaking Na'vi.
