There ARE various isotopes that are only found as fission byproducts, some with a very long half life, but none have been found naturally.

I stand corrected. Pu-244 indeed has a half life of 80 million years. But Uranium has a half life if 4.5 billion years. Either way, any radioactive debris/particles deposited be a conventional nuclear warhead wouldn't have had time to decay significantly.

I actually got to see one of those at the Atomic Testing Museum a while ago.
The Atomic Testing Museum and the NTSHF - Las Vegas, NV
I don't see why that couldn't have been somewhat like what they used, 10-20 tons of TNT is still quite a punch.

Yes, yes there is. But the particular site where they unearthed the bodies had 10-15x the amount of beta and gamma emissions as the surrounding soil.
I can't help but think that this is starting to feel about as true as UFO's... oh wait...
Either way, how can you explain that the people were dug up in the middle of the street, and that the Indian text depicts a nuclear explosion so well?
