I would be okay with buying the software to get something good like FL studio, Reason, or Ableton. But do you also need a keyboard and lots of knobs to do the effects and what not?

Also, im a biiiig impulse buyer so I will really want something for a bit and then spring for something big and expensive convincing myself I will use it and then I hardly do XD but the cycle always continues

With most programs you don't need a million knobs, I have several audio editing programs, and all i need to use them is my mouse and keyboard, its pretty convenient. With fruit loops all you'd need is a mouse and keyboard, dono about all the ones you mentioned tho, You could probably google it

I've got Reason 4 with an Axiom 25 Pro MIDI controller and I love it!

What all do you use the midi controller for? And how much do those normally run for?

A MIDI controller you can use to physically play out notes, so its easier to test out how something sounds and recording (if you want) ect. plus you can control different knobs which is what the knobs on mine are for, also if you get a bigger one they come with sliders, also beatpads are fun to use, then the pitch control is the name, and a Stop, Start, Pause, Record button so you dont have to keep going to your mouse... its just a "must have" item for music making... heres another picture of mine

And I paid $400 because mine is a Pro, so it automatically maps out each key and knob for you

Winter is on it's way here in Canada. Not yet, but soon enough. We're supposed to get more snow this year than last. Last year we got hardly any.

We shall see, good old Canadian winter, unpredictable.
