Ma Tompa'Ivong sì Mi'niri what do You do with the (dyed) hemp?
I'm asking 'cause I know some techniques but I can't recognize yours. ^^ And I'm just curious - I might even learn. Irayo.
And where could You get those beautiful feathers? (I only have 'one-coloured' ones, e.g. red, blue, yellow.... many.)

I'll make some stuff like these after my very important exams I may show you pics.. (But I won't sell. It would be a bit complicated from Hungary and with the little money we have. I'm not complaining, it's just the truth. And I'm very happy with my Family.)
Guess what! I'm planning to make some "Na'vi armour" for myself! I'll show you those ASAP.
cool! okay, so the brown feathers and the wiry grey ones are different species of rooster feathers; the zebra striped one, the long bright red ones, and the small black-white-and-brown ones are pheasant feathers; and the brightly colored ones are yellow macaw feathers. These are all easy to find on ebay and etsy if you know what you are looking for and if you keep an eye out. Just be careful with the macaw feathers because sometimes they charge a lot for just a few, because the birds are so exotic.
And in all honesty, I kept the whole thing together with lots of super glue. I glued the feathers together at the tips, wrapped the tips with thin white twine, stuck a wood bead on it, then glued the whole thing onto braided thick hemp cord.

Thank you very much, that's much help.

There are always artificially dyed feathers if you don't want to buy fancy macaw feathers, and it doesn't really matter how real they look for something like this.

Srane ma Nrra - oel ngati kameie
(I meant to say nice to See you, too - but my Na'vi needs a serious improvement so I opted for Srane = yes).

(Off-top):
I was lost in the woods of hi tech - my old comp crashed beyond repairs a couple of months ago, and it took me quite some time (and money) to get a new one. This new one came with wonderful and horrible Windows 8 installed - and I was completely mind-boggled trying to figure it out! :O i kinda share your feelings about computers now

I must as well post the reason for my absence on Community Support, or something, cos it seems some people are wondering why in the world I am suddenly commenting on (relatively) old posts. The glitchy comp is the reason!

Aytsmuke si aytsmukan, post your cosplay photos! the more the merrier.
