Something I try to do is to never lie myself, specially when it comes to feelings. And when I just wake up every day, see myself in the same house, the same school, the same routine that I'd probably keep until I'm laid in earth; I can't help feeling disappointed.
I see the beauty of this world. I live in the suburbs of Madrid, just next to the highway; and when the sun rises it's just beautiful on this side. The sky turns from black to green, red, pink and pale blue. Large clouds in columns are just everywhere and make an imposing and breathtaking landscape (if it wasn't for the cars and trains that pass by constantly) The area next to us is almost untouched; "almost", because drug addicts throw away the bottles and syringes there, so you can't take a walk there without being cut somewhere or getting AIDS. And when I picture a world where it's just man and creation, I ask "What the sh*t has happened here?!" I see cars as moving capsules that take you to concrete blocks where people simply stares for hours at computers. Just, look at someone at the computer, don't look at the screen and focus on the person. It's just sad, specially when they say that they'd stay all day long in front of one instead of talking with somebody (the in-communication era...). And people are just empty, superficial douches. I just wonder about what people talked about before, now it's all "Let's make fun of someone, I'm bored", looking like a rapper or an urban tribe of sh*t. We love to label and from that labeling kick *sses. The feeling of everything going wrong is what fills me now. Disappointed with what we've become.

![]() I was just thinking yesterday, how pointless everything is. How we create all our problems, all our needs that would never exist if society worked better...

I blame PAD every time I get this feeling..

![]() I have also noticed.. I don't want to read/watch news anymore. They are full of terrible things I don't want to hear. Luckily I live near to a forest. Whenever I get this worthless feeling I escape to woods, climb on a tree.. something that frees my mind from all this bull**** that's happening. |

Yea--the world's motto is "No time to do it right at first---but plenty of time to do it over after it's screwed up"
That's why avatar hit so well over the world---it put a very bright spotlight right where it needed to be. |

I live in a bit of a bubble, the world around me is actually rather green other than the high quantity of SUVs and trucks you find in Texas of course. But I know the feeling you have, it's terrible I know.

Every time I log on I can almost always guarantee that Zenit has a great thread goin on the boards.
I have seen what you talk about whenever I go into town. People just living to work. And most of the time they don't like what they have for a job and it just makes me sad that people get drug down to those levels. I'm not saying that they don't have happy lives at home and they may be content with what they have. But my philosophy is "If you work a job you love you never work a day in your life" That's the way I view farming, I see it not as a job but as a lifestyle. I get up, I walk out the door and start working. I either work on machinery, work in the fields, run errands, or mess with the cows. And I might get a day off every now and then. But, I love it, I work with family everyday. Everyday there is something different to do. And I am hardly ever out of site of the sun, or the outdoors. I don't think I could every work in a place where I'm indoors all the time. It was bad enough when I was sick the past couple days and had to stay indoors. I was itching to get outside on the third day. I just wish everyone could experience the freedom that I feel farming the land gives to people. I'm sure there are much better things out there that are more fun, closer to nature and easier, but this is what I got and I am very happy with it.

Random thought I posted on AF a while back that I am reminded of... may or may not heavily relate to your original thoughts ZenitYerkes;
"I feel like humanity is perhaps at a teenage sort of stage. We have done the early development and learning - that was developing into our full homo-sapien form, learning speech and how to hunt and gather, then agriculture and such - and now we are at a point where we (in a massive general term, of course) think we know everything, yet many of our actions are quite destructive and we still have SO far to go. Not to say that I think teenagers are completely reckless and destructive, not at all. But can you see what I mean? I feel like we are at a relatively young stage - we have learnt so much and are going to strive to learn and discover more and more, yet we are quite blind to the fact that much of what we do is actually making things worse for the world around us - the world we, and everything else, depends on. As teenagers as individuals there is usually some kind of guidance - from parents, teachers, peers etc. Often there is help if you make a mistake; some kind of support to make it right, or as right as it can be. However, the human race does *not* have anyone to come along and right our wrongs, or to oversee us and guide us with how to undo our mistakes. So... what happens? How many decades or centuries will it take for us to get into adulthood and finally realise we need to be more mature with our decisions for the sake of our world? Our will we burn it out before then?" The newer generations perhaps moreso are so involved in getting through this rat race - that's what life gets turned into. You have time to play in the meadows with the flowers when you're little, but that's the *only* time we've been conditioned to do so. It's sad, it's a tragedy, and I'm not buying into it. I admit at the moment, yes, I'm working my butt off more than I feel I should be - but that's because I'm going overseas soon to do something that is really close to my heart. My jobs are animal-related ones, I know what you mean about farming, Fighter, and while the stuff I do is completely different, it gives me a sense of.. hmm.. well, I feel like I am doing something worthwhile for other lives. Anyway. Just... don't lose hope in humanity (although I don't know why I'm saying that, because I already have lost mine!!). Perhaps I should say don't lose hope in life. Anything can happen around you, but you can shape your own life, and do whatever you want with it. Try not to let everything else get you down. I keep saying, but every positive, peaceful person contributes that peace to the world as a whole. We need people who aren't buying into the whole rat race thing ^^

We need to change our ways..but we'd only do that on a mass scale by two things..
Force or mass panic and neither are good.. Look at the Global Warming fear that's been going on for a few years due to Al Gore et al. Now people are rating the environment as a lower concern since they are sick to death of the whole thing..

To be honest though..even I am sick of the global warming hype.
I want to save our whales and do my own bit to help the enviroment. Without the government wagging their fingers at me to do something..

Future children?) grow up and their children hopefully - and for it all to be in a world that isn't too much more destroyed from the state it's in now...Quote:

Global warming, at least the sort that Al Gore and some others advocate is a theory. There are other scientists that don't agree but since they don't sell papers, the media likes to stick with the Al Gore theory. So much so that you can't watch a simple nature program without them talking about it. I do get tired of the government telling me to do something, especially when they don't do anything to help. I try to do what I can but all this "green" stuff seems like a fad, a marketing scheme and that is very sad because they don't care about actually helping the environment. They just care about making more money.
