As I said in Stanley's thread about his first Avatar experience at home I will talk about mine.
I last saw Avatar in theaters about the beginning of April and never since. I bought Avatar Friday after school and never had a good chance to watch it all weekend. Mostly because I wanted to be by myself and no interruptions. Well, Sunday night came around and I couldn't wait. So I set my alarm for 4 a.m. and went to sleep, I woke at 4 and used the restroom and sneaked into my dads room because he watched it on Blu-ray the night before and the DVD is in the case so I went Ninja style in there, took the case and out without a sound, went up to my room, shut the door, lights off, put the DVD in, headphones on and hit play. Let me say that the quality was much better than I expected out of the DVD. And I was totally immersed in the movie, I felt like I never blinked once throughout the whole viewing. When he was running for the first time, I felt I was running. When he was running from the thanator, I felt his fear. When he rode the Ikran, I felt I was flying. When he was fighting Quaritch, I felt his anger against him. I didn't get PAD but I did get PAE. I felt so great that I watched all the credits, all the way through. Afterwords, I took a shower and when I was done with that I felt so alive and rejuvenated as never before. Then I had a apple for breakfast which is good, was friendly with all the kids at school, said hello, held open doors, picked up trash, and was even able to stay awake through my Auto Class lecture about Airbags, which is amazing feat. I came home and was busy doing many things, helping dad, working on my truck that I never got home till late which is why I'm posting this today because I was so exhausted of how much I did yesterday because I never had a lazy moment, I was always doing something. I felt great all through school, all through working, and that evening I started watching "The Last of the Mohicans" before I went to sleep. Today was pretty close to the same. Just as great a day. I hope the effect doesn't wear off. But that is what happened to me with starting my day out with my first home viewing of Avatar. I'm thrilled that I had a positive experience with it and that I didn't end up as just another movie. Today many of my friends finally saw it and they all loved it as well. But I don't know if it affected them as it did me.

Yup, plus also for me I have so much on my mind after Avatar I feel like I won't be able to focus for the rest of the day, so at night I can meditate in bed

Well, congratulations
![]() Same here... I find it hard enough to do things in the morning usually. Really, by the evening, I'm in the mental and emotional state that makes me need Avatar anyway.

Kudos on "The Last of the Mohicans", too! I'm actually taking a class on James Fenimore Cooper (ie: "Based on the novel by James Fenimore Cooper") and we've read 3 of the 5 Natty Bumppo books--Natty being the Daniel Day Lewis character.
Anyway, I've thought of watching it in the morning too. Maybe not the whole thing, but a couple scenes before I go into work/school. Sometime I might but I'd probably end up caught up in the film and late! Plus I could NEVER wake up at 4am and stay up all day. Never. Ever. |
