In the scene where Neytiri fights the viperwolfes, two and a half second into the scene - if you take into consideration the increased air resistance and 20% lower gravity of Pandora, as well as Neytiri's current endorphine and adrenaline level - at this moment in the scene, what is the maximum velocity and angle Neytiri's tail will reach from here and 4 seconds forward?
...just wondering.

Perhaps their tails are an extension of their spinal cord, meaning she has control over it. Maybe she knew about that risk and learned to control her tail into being low at all times (unless if she's pissed, you see the tail wagging viciously when she's mad).

Well, since no one else seems to be able to figure it out, I'll give it a go.
First of all, lets lay down some math basics: 2+2=4 From that equation, we can derive: Neytiri+Tail=Hot So, we've got the following: 2+2=4 Neytiri+Tail=Hot With that in mind, we can reasonably infer that the answer to your question of "...what is the maximum velocity and angle Neytiri's tail will reach from here and 4 seconds forward?" is unarguably "Neytiri is hot when she's fighting stuff." The following diagram should explain further:

Lol Devourment. I have to use some calculus on that one, but I think you're just about there...

well first of all we need to find out the weight of Neytiris tail and the force of gravity (earths is 9.8m per second)
F=mv i.e force = mass x velocity rearrange it to v=f/m then we can find out the angle of her tail by using circular motion. For this we need to find out the length of her tail. and the tension force (Ft) and the centripital force (Fc) then we use sin(theta)Fc/Ft rearramge theta = sin-1 fc/ft this *should* give you the answer do we need to find the period of rotation aswell?

I'd love to have physics lessons with that background instead of a whiteboard

BTW, the answer should be in the format of a floating point octal number, with acceleration measured in The Neytiri Percentile/s^2. Also, take into the account the hotness factor, and arrive at a number close to mrrvomun, or 52 in a base8 number system. |
