Oooops, sorry. I wondered off for a minute there.

True true. The design on AF, and the ads, sure they're annoying. The people, that's why I'm still there. That's why any of these forums lasts as long as they do. I love that place.

You're right... The people are what are really important, which is why we have to keep ToS the place it has become

I thought this site was founded due to friction with the creator of Avatar-Forums...

the main reason was to get back the feeling that AF used to have, which was lost over time... I can't speak for everyone who did come here, each have their own reasons of course, but that was never a specific reason. We have had issues with certain former AF members in the past, but those have been long resolved.

^^ true. It's jsut that the first few months (like 2-3 wasn't it?) The AF were so beautiful. Everyone was so loving, caring, excited that they weren't the only ones with the feelings that Avatar gave them. More and more people joined (which wasn't a problem) but soon I noticed threads were having more and more arguments and hostility, and trolls were leaking through, the rest is history. This is pretty much the original AF, with a different name. Its just for me the name AF holds so many precious memories, but ToS is more comforting

Indeed, same here... AF did literally save my life, directly at first, then after that, it certainly kept me sane when I would have lost it otherwise... Not to mention how I met the best friends I have there, who are like family to me.

I must admit, although I joined AF in Jan, I was just lurking to begin with and didn't really get active until this new 'Clan' had started up. Consequently I didn't really know of the bad times that happened. Unfortunately life has those who seek to spoil what others have. (Hmm remind you of a certain organisation at all?)

Both ToS and AF are unique in there own way. I've met so many really, really good people both here and on AF. They are new friends - real friends too. Ooo what would it be like if we all lived on the same street I wonder?

I've found the words of kindness, love and support are completely unconditional on both forums to anyone who seeks it, with a good laugh thrown in for good measure. We appear to have all helped each other and consequently become greater than the sum of the membership.

Ok, two forums. But so what: Two Clans. The Na'vi clans are portrayed as getting on fine with each other, and so do we. Long may it continue.

Eywa ngahu,

Alan

I really hope that one day we can set everything aside and unite as one once again as both forums are filled with great people. That would also save me the time of jumping back and forth between forums

Well... ToS is smaller, that's its purpose. A smaller community, a closer community.

If it were to merge with the larger, broader AF, it would completely lose its purpose.

We are never going to. Sorry, but if that's why you're here, you might as well forget that idea. We are completely different, and as Eltu said, it would be AF who had something to gain from that, not us.
