Well if there's gonna be a poll at all, tell us where it's going to be. And hopefully we'll be able to see who voted what; I want names!

I too support this and agree with the name being "Community Support."

I realise we don't need to catagorise eveyrthing, but it would make such topics just that little bit more acessable.

Ok, poll added. It will be open for 3 days (possibly unless we get a clear majority before then)

I wish there was an "I don't know" or "I don't care" option, because I really don't know what to vote, frankly.

Hmm, I don't know if we need a sub forum for that since it seems that the General discussion forum is working but on the other hand, it might help to tidy things up so I would vote yes for a community support forum .

It's a nice idea, but it just doesn't seem necessary to me. The General Discussion forum has served fine for this up to now.

Why do we need a forum for this? Wasnt General Forums good? If we put these 'rants' into a subforum then it's just making these types of discussions less accessible.

No to Community Forum, there's no need.

On paper the idea seems just fine I guess, but in practice I think it's just creating more little used sub-forums.

On the other hand, if general discussion is active with other kind of discussion, those support threads might not get the attention they deserve.

Then again I think that most people are not going to be that active on the support forum, so a lot of useful or insightful opinions might never get there, considering that general discussion is the most populated sub-forum I think.

There are still too many variables to make a proper decision on the matter. I have to think this more thoroughly before I cast my vote.

I believe that problem and support threads can get easily lost in the General Forums... I say yes. (Assuming it's to be called "Community Support" and not "Ranting" or something like that.)

Can the Community Support subforum be used for things other than merely ranting and venting?

My interpretation of this subforum is that it will be a place where you can just post whatever is in your head, to sort of let out some steam or just to get your thoughts out there and see what others think of them. So yeah, it won't just be for venting and ranting if it comes to fruition.

Thought so... I don't feel like it's necessary but you guys can do it if you want. I'm kind of going back and forth on this decision based on how all of it will turn out. I don't think it's an absolute necessity as much as something leaning more towards conveniency if you know what I mean.

The only problem I see with this is boredom and the population declining a bit upon repeated use. When their thoughts are spread out across various subforums, it creates something of a bit of an adventurism. It feels like as if there is some sort of excitement in actually trying to find a good topic in different subforums. Variety makes it exciting and it flows well with the overall main forum.

If everything is clumped together, it creates boredom and unease with seeing the same thing over and over again. Not to mention that specific subforum would probably give off a slightly more negative vibe or be filled with sadness than most of them out there due to the focus of their attention being in one place.

P.S. - Human No More, is it okay if you extend the number of polling days? The reason why I ask is because I notice that some members aren't aware of this and I think they would like to have a voice or an opinion on it too.

That being said, I'm a bit concerned about this happening but if it brings out the best in others then go ahead. I won't hold you back. I would just keep this in mind if you're going to create an extra subforum like this.

Not all of it is bad though. The good part about having something like this is more supportive and understanding people. Not to mention it would probably broaden their horizons and their mindsets on life. To summarize, I don't think it's truly necessary to divide and put the people in one place unless it's something people really want.

I'm still kind of going back and forth about it, unless someone can convince me it's something really good. Until then, I'm leaning towards no at this point.

P.S. - Human No More, is it okay if you extend the longevity of this poll? The reason why I ask is because I notice that some members aren't aware of what's going on and I believe they may want to have a voice or an opinion on the matter too. Perhaps you could put up a quick announcement on the subject to help raise awareness of what's going on?

Ok, I'll extend it another 3 days and make a news post.
