Default Another day

"This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time" - Tyler Durden, Fight Club

I hate when a whole day has passed by and all I did today was staying in front of this computer, watch videos and walk my dog. Really.

Yeah, writing and reading a screen might seem interesting things to do at a sunny and torrid day of May; but I personally don't like to do it all day long. Despite ToS being such a great community and I considering it my second family; I believe I'm losing some great experience on life.

I began to get out around 9PM to see the sunset. Yesterday a big big cloud was hiding the horizon and turned pink, violet and green. And it was beautiful.

How many sunsets like that I've been missing so far?

"Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying.
And this same flower that smiles today
Tomorrow will be dying."

I think I need to do something productive with my time. Something that let me experience what life is about.

Well I think you just need to GET A LIFE!!! HAHAHA

just kidding... anyway even though I agree with your point, I think people expect too much from "life". I always hear yeah sitting here and doing this and that is so boring, but life isn't just about doing crazy **** like ski-gliding Eiger, upon landing hoping into a lamborghini, doing 300 km/h and jumping out with a parachute when exiting nearest turn in a top speed, landing and jumping on a bike to ride down a most dangerous ski resort in Alps just to stop in the nearest pub getting drunk into unconsciousness to later find out you just filled your nose with a marshmellow and there is no way to get it out. Sure you need something to keep you going, but if I read your post in another thread correctly, you're interested in phylosphy, writing and painting. If that's not enough to keep you going, well find some more interests. I know what you mean by sitting at the computer, but you can always watch the sunset at least from a window while sitting at the computer. What else would you want to do anyway?

yes this post is a reply to something else and completely messed up heh

You can gather a few friends and go watch sunset with them, it's great. I used to do that with my great friend, just talking and getting drunk with a great wine. The more drunk we are, the more philosophical the debate gets.

Dude. Seriously. NO ONE HAS EVER DONE ANYTHING PRODUCTIVE IN THE LONG TERM.

We do all this stuff. Work day and night. Raise a family. And what have we got the next day?
Not really any change is there?

We live lives to continue our race. To advance. Sure, you might do something great, but that's basically just paving the road for generation Z-.

So essentially, that's all there is to life. Should just enjoy it while it's there.

Sorry if that sounded weird, but it's the truth.

I remember when I was younger about 10-12 years old, that's all I did all summer would be go inside and sit on the computer. But soon found out what little I accomplished. I needed someone to motivate me. And I'm glad my dad did. That next summer him and me fixed up his old 3-wheeler for me to drive.

The summer after that, I fixed up a truck for me to drive around.

The next summer me and dad fixed up his old car for my first car.

This last winter I totally rebuilt an engine from a 66 ford galaxie.

YouTube - Ford FE 352 First start after rebuild.

And these past two summers I have been restoring a 1943 Ford Truck.

I don't mean to brag but I want to show you that this all sounds good but if you can see the end product after you're done it drives you to do better the next time around and it helps keep you motivated.

If I would have sat around all those summers I would not have accomplished these things. After awhile I don't desire to sit all day long at the computer like I used to. Sure I could and sometimes I do every once and a great while but after too long I get stir crazy and have to get outside.

All you need is a little motivation. Call friends up who aren't doing anything and set up some dates to get together and do stuff, go on walks, build something. Or you can write something, draw. There are millions of things to do, but you need motivation to get to do them.

I find that if I did something every day, I'd never have any time for what really makes life worth it for me... my friends, my family here...

Agreed, you have to take time off as well to do the things you love. Without that, life just isn't the same. But, doing something everyday doesn't necessarily mean working as long as your being active, or working on something you love.

Every evening I get on ToS and talk with all my friends, when it rains me and dad stay home and watch movies, and tonight I'm going to the fair with some buddies. And I have been looking forward to it all week. But, if I lay around all day these times with friends and family become less and less special and I would begin to take them for granted.

But that's just my perspective, everyone has their own lives and each one is as different as the next.
