A place to live...
I'm over here, sitting in a bus, and I will continue doing so for the next 15 minutes, so I'll probably make this thread just cause.
I'm on my way to work and let me describe what I see outside. First it's the monotone greyness of concrete (that's where I live), then it's the fields in-between and then these "rich villages" - American style: a medium (to large) sized house with a square shaped garden, white planks or a wall. A suburban life. First off, I hate that there is basically no architecture to the whole place - I mean it's like you took a ruler and said "hey this field is so boring, let's make a street grid - I'd say north-south east-west? Is this enough stereotypical?" Is this really how everyone wants to live? And it gets even worse, a km or two closer to my work, there is another "village", but the houses are not individual anymore, they are all the same! And judging by the looks, they are very expensive too. How can anyone live with that? The only reason I'd move to one of those is so I could crank up my amp without annoying the wall sharing neighbours. Isn't there some originality to the living these days? I for one wouldn't mind living in that portable shack called Loftcube somewhere in the woods, with one access road and electricity. But that's just me cause I'm kinda loner, but even if I wanted to live with a lotta people in one place, I would want something more original that the suburban stereotype! Is this something real, something measurable in the biology of the forest, or I'm just imagining rainbows here?
