I'm still interested in Avatar, and enjoy it very much.
It's just not as... enchanting anymore.

You may have watched it at a bad time (e.g. extremely late at night). For me, the "experience" from watching Avatar varies from viewing to viewing.

I'm kinda worried this will happen for me too. I haven't watched it in about 3 months now and i'm dying to see it again, but i'm STILL waiting for that perfect time to come up for another viewing. I'm just worried i'm building it up too much.
Having said that, I listened to literally 4 seconds of the soundtrack the other day and that alone gave me *that* feeling. So, I don't know...

In my case it applies to the soundtrack too, I only listen it when I have this feeling _I want it_. (And it blows my mind !)

I think we will all still love Avatar and it's meanings to us all, but familiarity will knock away that initial feeling we had when we first watched it. I think we have all been influenced in a good way, and that has added to us as individuals. I enjoy watching Dances With Wolves more and other films and music that I have enjoyed in the past have been enhanced by experiencing Avatar. I have more understanding and appreciation for real and made up Civilizations. Don't know if anyone else feels the same?

I'm going to try not seeing Avatar until the August Re-Release. Doubt I'll stick to it though. I plan on giving myself a little break from the dying urge soon and sneaking in a viewing, solely because Avatar is like my addiction and I just can't quit cold turkey for 3 months until August...

I know exactly what you guys mean. I watched the Blu Ray like 5 times the first 2 weeks after I got it and I didn't get that feeling of awe and wonder anymore by the 5th viewing. I haven't let myself watch it in over a month now, or listen to the soundtrack. I am dying to see it again, to see Neytiri and Pandora again in HD, but I will wait until the perfect chance to (no family distractions, ect.). If I could just restore half or even a quarter of the feeling of amazement I had after my first viewing of it or two, I would be so happy.

Avatar may have lost some of its "enchantment" but I still get goosebumps in a lot of the scenes and it still does affect me emotionally. So when I do watch Avatar it's still fairly close to the experience I had in the cinema, just maybe not as potent.

That's why I'm trying to watch Avatar as little as possable so the magic won't be drained easily.

The key to keeping that 'avatar magic' is to not overexpose yourself to the film. On June 26th I am going to see Avatar again in IMAX 3D. That very day will be the three-month anniversary of the last time I saw Avatar. It will also be only the 7th time I have see the film.
I have the DVD of Avatar right here in my home, but I have not touched it! If I need an Avatar fix, I listen to the soundtrack. That is it. I am dying right about now to see Avatar again, and I know it will be very special and wonderful on the 26th!

Hmmm...Interesting thread. I have to admit I've only watched Avatar once since getting it on DVD. Ok, ok don't fire your Na'vi arrows at me yet!
I even got the blueray, for which I've seen bits but I just have not had the time to sit down and watch it ![]() Although when I did watch on DVD, it had the same affect on me in the them same places. We know where they are What I have done though is just about worn out the DVD drive on my PC playing the music to Avatar! Now I'm leading this forum film project I have even less time to put aside to watch it - I'm not complaining though -it's one hell of a ride I'm having and I'm loving every minute of it with those who are taking part. So I think if I was to sit down and watch it again, it certainly would hit the mark again. Of course, nothing like back in Decmeber and January, but still have one remarkable experience. When I look back at how this film and the good people both here and on AF have enabled the 'real' me to step forward (for want of a better description), I feel the magic has not gone, it has merely been transformed, and I sincerely hope it has for you. No. Luckily for her, she has an IMAX near her who will have Avatar playing all the way through June, July, and August.
