Movies more intense than real life?
I've been just playing around with a thought of relative value of human life and I came to this. Why is it that we develop such a strong emotional bond with a fictional character in matter of hours, that we are able to cry when they die? Look at it this way, you spend 2 hours in a train with some guy, but even if you discover in the first few minutes he's interested in almost everything you are and is a totally awesome person, two hours later a freak with a gun appears, yells something about the paper in his wallet and shoots him in the head, will you feel sad? Will you cry? Probably not. But if it was Neytiri? Well I bet you would. Even Tsu'tey that appears so much less in the movie gets this ultra sad ending. If we could develop such a strong emotion towards strangers in such a short time, the world would be much safer and better place.
