Tall vs Short, what do you prefer?

This may seem superficial, especially coming from me, but I pose a genuine question.

Guys: Do you prefer your woman short or tall?

Girls: Do you prefer your men short or tall?

There is a poll with several options available.

Personally I like my woman tall due to many different scenarios I can envisage, but lets not get into that.

You may as well stick that in the 5th option as it's not pertinent to the focusing question.

I'm not sure if this sounds weird, but like when I hug a girl, I want her to feel... safe with me. I was going to write a thread about this, but one major thing I loved about Jake and Neytiri's relationship is that their love was truly shown... proved to each other. They risked their lives for each other... Jake for Neytiri and Neytiri for Jake. I love to daydream about me and Neytiri, (next part may sound cheesy) but having an adventure, in danger, on the run... which is why I'm writing that story Lost. I want her to feel safe with me, that I can protect her. And I just feel that if I'm taller, I'm making her feel safe with me. Make sense?

How is it not? Your question could/should be "What size do prefer your partner to be?" You're probably excluding a good portion of the members by only dealing with the extremes.

Yeah that makes sense. I suppose I'm different, I want to 'snuggle' up to someone taller than myself. Your story isn't cheesy at all.

I wanted to adress extremes as I was doing a bit of research around this phenomena. I realize though that there should be a 6th option for same/similar height. Is there anyway to add that in? Either way I'm fine.

I voted tall but would prefer the same height. I feel more at ease talking to a girl if she's at eye level with me, or even a bit taller.

I think I read somewhere long time ago, that in an "optimal" relationship the female is somewhat shorter than the male. Don't remember any details as to why, since I no longer even remember when or where I even read it, but it's just something that popped into my mind when I saw this thread.

But as always, I'm not going to vote, at least not yet, since I haven't really paid sufficient thought to the idea myself. Then again I think this is one of those things one can't really address rationally, so it might be interesting to think about, but somewhat pointless in the end.

Hmm... an interesting question.

Generally, I somewhat prefer the female to be a little bit shorter, but having said that, I don't really mind either way.

I find some of the replies to be quite interesting. Most replies appear to take the question as relative rather than absolute. In other words, comparing the other person to themselves.

I over 6ft tall, so there are very few women who are taller than me, (although I have seen at least two women in my lifetime who were either the same height or slightly taller.

Since most women are shorter than me, I answer the question as an absolute rather than relative comparison. A very small woman would probably ask the question in the same way.

But I suspect that most small men and tall women or those who are around average height will answer the question on a relative basis. I suspect that the gay/lesbian community would also answer the question in the same way.

I generally prefer, shorter women as I relate this more to femininity. Although, I have also been attracted to tall women as well. In reality looking healthy (i.e not too fat or too skinny) is more important than being tall or short.

I don't give a crap at the moment. I mean, come on, I'm 13 yrs old. My birthday was last month. And I'm not as dumb as my brother who doesn't give a stuff about his education.

There are a few people I have found... attractive to admit. Though I should be concerned of my sis viewing this thread, well. I've got enough dirt on her already, so I think I'm fine.

One of them in particular in year 6, Trenett, was taller than me. EVEN though I was the eldest in my class.

I feel exactly this way in reverse. I feel more comfortable with a slightly taller guy, if talking strictly about height, all other factors being equal. I am comfortable just on my own but with a guy, I want him to make me feel even safer, if that makes sense.

I myself am very tall for a girl my age and it would be nice to a have a guy who is taller than me, it makes me feel....less tall =]

Edit: If you all were wondering I am 5'10" almost 5'11" >.<
