I don't eat in McDonalds or buy GAP clothes or watch MTV and stuff. Haha!

Same here, because I really don't like that stuff
(well, mcdonalds is OK when you're drunk, hungry, it's the middle of the night and you need something to eat, but I don't do it regularly or anything )

I can't even remember the last time I bothered to go to McDonald's.

Anyone here seen Super Size Me? If I remember correctly, there's a scene where the narrator is talking about the world becoming like an old cartoon background, where as the characters are running, the background scrolls from one side to the other and shows the same buildings being repeated over and over and over...

Same here. I hate McDonald's. I don't find their food to be good at all. GAP clothes don't fit me and I have much better things to watch than MTV. I'm not sure why they call it MTV anymore. They don't play videos at all anymore. It all this silly reality show crap.

I no longer eat at McDonald's. Made a commitment 6 months ago to eat healthy and loose weight and so far i've held to it. Don't care for GAP clothes, jeans and a plain t-shirt work fine for me. MTV? I'd rather watch the Discovery or Science channel.

So much for Monoculture

Yeah McD is great when you're drunk late at night, in fact I go there almost exclusively when being drunk, cause I think the food there is more expensive for what you get than in restaurant style pubs over here. I don't really care that much for not being healthy, as I actually need to gain weight, I even really like the taste of their burgers, but I just HATE this style of eating. Too much America for my tastes lol, sorry Americans, but I prefer traditional ways of eating.

Yeah, I agree there. Even when I'm at that stage of sobering up where you're really hungry, I will often get a pizza or go to the all night cafe around here instead, but sometimes I do like the convenience and speed, even if the food isn't amazing, which is why I don't do it often.

I still despise MTV, 'brand name' clothes, etc, though

I have seen Super Size Me. It made me want to never eat there again. The part I remember the most is actually one of the special features concerning the french fries. What exactly are they made out of? I mean, they never seem to decay. You can find a french fry in some corner of your car a year after buying them and they still will look the same. Strange???

If they don't decay after sitting in your car for a year, they're probably made mostly of preservatives and a bunch of other non-natural things - a.k.a. NOT potatoes! I think you can do the same thing with Twinkies as well Yeah...not sure if I really want to know what McDonald's fries/chips are actually made of.

I very rarely do those things- And NEVER McDonalds! Man, ever since a few summers ago when I decided to stop eating fast food, I can't eat the stuff. It will generally give me a stomach ache for at least half an hour to an hour. And to think, there are still people out there who blatantly deny that it can be that bad for you! "Well, if it was that bad for you, they couldn't sell it!" Hmmph, same goes for cigarettes too, right? (No offense to cigarette smokers, your choice, but it's a good metaphor in this case ). I mean, in moderation, even substances like alcohol can be very beneficial to you- but not fast food. I haven't seen any evidence to point to the same thing.

Mmmm... /rant. Sorry. I definitely got carried away on that one!

The concept of a monoculture is interesting and kind of depressing. Definitely makes me want to do some traveling within the next 15 years or so, because in a few decades this issue'll be significantly more widespread than it already is.
