Default "Internet" Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize 2010.

Quote:
According to media reports, the Internet was nominated by the Italian version of the Wired magazine for promoting dialogue, debate and consensus through communication.

It’s unclear though whether they would stretch as far as to honor the Internet, as proposed by the Italian version of Wired magazine, which cited its use as a tool to advance "dialogue, debate and consensus through communication" and to promote democracy. – cite Forbes

Whether "Internet" wins the Nobel Peace Prize 2010 or not, we will definitely wait with bated breath for the results, since Internet has definitely changed the way we do things and communicate with others, it will only be befitting to reward it with a prize of such honor.

What do you think of this nomination? Has the Internet changed your life in any way? (question in article)

Awesome! Considering how, ehm, less than well suited the two last winners were, this is a great initiative. Seriously, Internet is the greatest invention since the printing press.

Has the Internet changed my life? Oh yes. I can't really remember my life before I discovered Internet, but it involved a lot of walking in the forest and being depressed and lonely.

The internet changed my life in so many ways I don't think I can count that high, well maybe I can, it would just take a long time.

Hmm, well they could give the prize to the geniuses who invented the internet. Joseph Carl Robnett Licklider apparently started the project.

As for how good the 'net is? You talk to a lot of interesting folks here, but unfortunately it seems to encourage one to find an "echo chamber" of those who share the same opinions. And ultimately all this sitting and typing isn't healthy, it's the very opposite of natural (a point this forum will appreciate). This damn computer is an addiction, it feels like an invisible chain.

Oh... the internet strengthened my faith, actually, in that I researched and studied all sorts of things and gained most of my important knowledge from the net....

...But this thread really belongs in the "General Discussion" section.

Easy.

World leaders eased tensions by watching SOOOOO much porn. Then they shared pictures.
Ahem.

Problem solved.
