i missed the first hour of the one where he talks about travelliung to other planets and the fate of the universe. in that one he also mentioned that because eventually us humans are going to have to move to another planet to survive, we will probably go to mars. he did mention an earth like planet thats 7X the size of earth, but its 20 light years away. travelling in a spaceship would take 73 years (because we can't travel at "c")... really interesting stuff. i wonder if he's seen Avatar

I thought that too. He talks a lot about E.T. life and exo-planets a lot.

YES! thank you. that's exactly what I was going to explain. The outcome of the math on this theory, when it's all done, is basically infinitely close to infinite dilation, which means that time will get slower faster as the collapse of this "cylinder" of space collapses. But time will never stop completely, but will be infinitely close to doing so. Since time is relative, and the rest of the universe is moving at the same "speed", including everyone's thought processes, no one will notice, and life will go on like normal (assuming we are still around, which is extremely doubtful, based on the theory of entropy.)

Nope. Think of a speeding car. To go in reverse, one must stop completely, even for a split second. Now imagine a car that couldn't ever stop completely. Would it be possible to go in reverse then?

Still, anything is possible due to multiverse theory, or at least interaction between universes with different laws of physics. A freak accident could occur due to another freak accident on a super-galactic scale... you get the idea. So sometime in the future I may end up eating my words. The only absolute truth is "Who knows?"

Time is being lost (somehow, nobody knows how, but the theory says so) but space isn't, that means more space is being created than time. So if time is slowing down but space is getting larger at the same rate is always has then it looks like the Universe is expanding at an increasing rate.

Then the universe had a massive time infusion (end of inflation)? Where did the extra time come from, and where is it going?

i saw Into The Universe with Stephen Hawking, he predicts that one possibility is that the universe gets to a point where it can't expand anymore and it stops, collapses and sucks everything back to the centre (and he said this causes time to go backwards) and we return to a singularity.

It's one theory, but measurement of redshift shows the opposite appears to actually be happening.

They could put you in cryo. But it's not a journey you would take, unless you had no family back on Earth, or were taking your whole family there to start a new life.

Yeah. There appears to be too much dark energy for the Big Crunch to happen. It also contradicts a few more of cosmologists' principles. (But hey, since when do they know anything? )
