The people I have met who run these kinds of places are invariably great people. Often a little eccentric, but always nice. I guess that's required for the kind of work they do.

I had a random animal encounter a couple of years ago that I will always remember. I was driving to my fiance's house in the evening and it was pitch black. I was just following the tram route when I noticed a fox run into the road. I slowed down and noticed about 6 fox cubs not even a foot long following their mum across the road. They must have been pretty young. I then stopped in the road and a car driving in the opposite direction slowed to a stop too. We both watched the foxes dart backwards and forwards across the stretch of road. It was quite awe inspiring. I had never been so close to a family of foxes in the wild.

I got very near a wolf in the wild at Denali National Park in Alaska. Just kind of happened. She trotted right by me, not caring at all

Here's the only (bad) photo I got of it, really surprised me of course and I was not ready with the camera.

Amazing

I've seen a fox right up close before, it was years ago at night and we were driving down a country road, it was crossing the road with a baby. We stopped to let it across and it sat there for about 5 minutes, watching us, not more than a couple of metres away, before walking off. Unfortunately nobody had a camera (this was the time before phones had cameras).

I have so many great memories with foxes <3. A young fox for a few weeks slept under my bush by my front door last year when it was snowing really bad. We would always leave chicken on the front step for it lol. And one time when I was at my bfs house a fox jumped his backyard fence into his backyard looking for rabbits and then jumped over his neighbors fence.
