Default The Tube.

Also applicable to any screen you have to get your eyes stuck on.

You do whatever the tube tells you!

You dress like the tube,
you eat like the tube,
you raise your children like the tube,
you even *think* like the tube!

This is mass madness, you maniacs! In God's name, you people are the real thing! *WE* are the illusion! So turn off your television sets. Turn them off now. Turn them off right now. Turn them off and leave them off! Turn them off right in the middle of the sentence I'm speaking to you now!

TURN THEM OFF...

Same old reliable Zenit going on about the usual topics.

"Snows main use of course, is for entertainment..."

This also applies here, entertainment. Something to keep people from realizing the horrible joke of life, to keep ourselves occupied enough not to think too much of our pointless existence.

Kind of difficult to change the topics when the world doesn't change at all.

I just see what I have in front of me and work with the material available. Don't blame me, I'm just a telltale.

You should take it as a compliment rather than an accusation, because I was just stating the same as you really, the world doesn't change.

But the interesting question is, how would you want it to change? For example, what would you have these people do instead?

Let them know that what they have is not free, that food, PC's, iPods and other bullsh*t does not come from the supermarket. That there is world beyond the screens, blue skies and green valleys to be admired and millions of birds to watch flying by.

Let them know the truth.

We are the damned sons of History, the spoiled children of planet Earth.

But the truth is not pleasant, why would people want to be miserable, when the comfort of ignorance is being offered in such a convenient manner?

Ignorance is bliss, and it's one of the few stupid old sayings that I actually agree with, since the more I think and know, the more miserable I become. The more mindless activity I perform, the less I think about how badly I've handled things so far.

And nature is not the answer, it has never been, since it's not something we would settle for, and all you need do to confirm this is to look around you.

Well they do come out of supermarket.

Anyway, I don't know many people spoiled by the "tube". My dad watches TV a lot, but he spent most of his life not doing so, and with his attitude, I think he knows better. (actually he often insults TV for having stupid people in it lol)
My mom doesn't watch TV, maybe a few movies that she knows are in the air at the moment. I don't watch TV, maybe a few movies that I know are in the air at the moment. I usually just PC around the netz and KILL KILL KILL in videogames (I take it as a sport so to say). My friends do the same or not even that. The people living other lifes through stupid TV shows are usually (in my experience) too stupid to even talk to, so I don't think you can effectively explain this to the target audience. Though it's true that it doesn't have to be only the TV, all the things we are fed with on daily basis are just there doing the same thing. Luckily, doing "mainstream thing" has become a thing looked down upon, or at least in the circles I circle around.

Did I make sense? I guess I'm also replying to something else, but whatever. It's what I had to say right now.

Me neither, but that's not the point.

I don't watch that much TV, but I am on my computer a lot for a few reasons... to look up new DJ products, listen to music, learn some things, talk to the amazing community here, make music, things along those lines. The TV is just old to me. Sure some good shows on, but I don't have time pretty much. Movies I love to watch.
