Default I Just Can't Seem To Be Able To Lucid Dream.

Every night, It takes me a while to fall asleep becuase it's summer and its hot during the night And the AC doesn't run so I have to open a window. But the problem is, I need to shut the window in the middle of the night so I won't get sick from heavy slump. These keep me fromn falling asleep. And worse, when I start dreaming, I don't relize that I'm dreaming, so I don't have a chance to lucid dream. I need some advice, please.

Try checking out the Dreamviews community. There is a ton of really good info and a helpful community there. I've been practicing since I joined there about 3 months ago, and now I can realize i'm dreaming about once a week. But usually my lucid dreams don't last over a minute.

Good Luck!

Its kind of hard to describe how to lucid dream. I've always been able to do it since I was young but it just takes time I guess. o.o I know not very helpful haha.

Lucid Dreaming is 45% practice and 55% natural ability. Lucid dreaming should happen randomly aswell as happening on cue.

I've read up on plenty of techniques and I've at least been able to increase my dream recall, but I just can't get them to be lucid. However, I think I'm just not persistent enough; I get discouraged and give up trying for periods of time.

I also need my window open for cool air, but it's not always quiet outside my window, so I leave it open early at night then close it right before I try falling asleep (which is admittedly a bit later than I ought to be going to bed).

Yeah, me neither, I started on it when I first saw Avatar than I gave up. Now, I'm back at it with vengence. GRR.

It's very difficult. There are many techniques. I have been trying many. But the first thing to do, is get your dream recall to where you remember at least one dream every night. Do this by keeping a dream journal. Write down your dreams when you wake up. Go back and read them and try to visualize them in your head again.

Also, make sure you get 8 hour of sleep, that helps me a lot. If I get maybe 6 or less I don't remember any dreams, but if I get 8 or more I remember dreams.

But, it would take pages for me to describe what I have learned so I will leave the fun of research up to you. Just go to Google and start searching "How to lucid dream"

It won't happen "overnight" so to speak. It takes time for you to build the mental pathways in your mind that allow you to be able to lucid dream, it just takes practice so keep at it. Don't give up.

I used to be able to when I was really young, but as I went in my teens I lost it.

Imagine, daydream. I do it for 1-2 hours a day.

It's easier than lucid dreaming, and helps pass the time.

A tip that helps me is make sure you're relaxed before you go to bed. Maybe drink some nice warm tea or take a hot shower before you go to bed. When you're all jittery anxious, or tense before you go to bed its harder to slip into lucid dreaming.

Tried to lucid dream a few times but never had any luck. Seems to always happen when you stop trying or don't think about it for a while.

Lucid dreaming to me is something you can practise but having the natural ability to become lucid is a GREAT help. I spontaneously become lucid from time to time but I also find that cues in dreams make me lucid or having a repeat of the same dream and realising it also makes me lucid. Reading about lucidity and thinking about it in waking life also help me if I really want to become lucid. The classic signs for me are mirrors (reflection is distorted), looking at my body parts (you may have extra fingers or look deformed) or just simply knowing how I dream and picking up on tiny cues such as how everyday things look (my dreams mostly don't 100% resemble waking life and I've learnt to notice the little things to tell I'm dreaming).

Recently I have been dreaming and knowing I'm dreaming but can't quite control whats happening, like my body plays out the dream but my mind knows I'm only dreaming so it's a battle between body and mind. I think this is because I'm feeling a little out of control in real life so my subconscious is doing the same in my dreams! I'll soon get out of this phase and get back to my mission of becoming fully Na'vi and lucid in my dreams.

Don't give up though, you have the rest of your life to keep trying and you will succeed one day as most people experience lucidity at least once in their lives (read this in a book about lucid dreaming).
