I am agnostic, what means basically not to play with the unknown.

However, I've discovered that there's something in human nature that is impossible to see in other beings: the need to work for the others. Not just merely as a social need, but to dedicate oneself for the rest. Thinking about the rest as an end, instead of a means.

That's for me something that clearly reveals we have something else, but I'd rather don't put it any pretentious name.

And as for God, I believe in Truth. Truth is not good, bad, loving, caring or hateful. It just "is".

Hard to explain with words, but it's something that really touched me and made me fell in love with it.

I guess I would have to answer by saying that I believe in a Divine Presence whom is really neither male nor female. Although I choose to call upon that Divine Presence in it's Feminine Aspects to help counter a 'Masculine' perception of the Divine that is overly dominate in our world right now. I call upon the Goddess and the attributes and gifts of the Great Mother in my prayers and meditations. I do not belong nor practice a 'particular' form of 'religion', I consider myself to be 'spiritual'.

I don't, and it's been hard coming to terms with that. I actually have to think of myself and everyone else as a random assembly of atoms for it not to depress. Which is odd considering I am reducing everyone.

I think you go a bit to far with that Grif. I would not describe the collection of atoms that make up you or I as random. A random collection more describes a rock. It's an entropy thing. Rock high entropy. You or I much lower entropy. We have to take in a lot of energy to maintain that low energy state.

Anyhow what makes us what we are is an emergent property of those atoms arranged in a particular and very non random way.

I still don't think that necessarily negates the possibility of some kind of higher power.

No I don't believe in a god, because a true god would not allow suffering and pain.

It could be a test. You don't find the true person without a little suffering and pain. Now the incredible degree of suffering in this world does cause one to question.

Hmm...

If God intervened with every major and minor thing that happened on earth then He wouldn't be God. There would be no free will since he'd be a bodyguard to everyone and everything. IMHO, God is letting "the suffering" occur because of man's sin.

Plus you gotta really take into account all the good that's on earth as well.

if god was around and would not allow suffering and pain that would mean we would live in a perfect world!

i don´t think the human can get along with that.....we need the chaos....we create the chaos....just look at out whole history....violence, pain and suffering...

This topic will always stir up controversy, but everyone has their own beliefs and we should all learn to respect another person's beliefs.
I believe in God as being everything, the whole Kabang whether there is a plan or it is just random probably all works. It is probably something that we cannot even hope to comprehend. Something inside me has always felt that there is another connection, what it is I cannot answer for sure, reincarnation may be a part of it, maybe we see our loved ones in the afterlife , maybe it is what just it is.
There could be a natural evolution of all things from the smallest atom to the largest Galaxy to a natural afterlife, but it is all part of the whole, as it were.
I do not believe in any religion, I think it only came into play as a human need to control other people, but I respect a person's beliefs and their actions if they are trying to help others. I would always respect a person's belief in their home as i would hope others would do for me in my home.
The other side of the coin is that there is nothing, but things I have experienced in life have proven to me that this is false.

Generally speaking I adhere to Deist views of God as a "divine clockmaker" who set the laws of the universe in motion and otherwise rarely, if ever, intervenes in his* creation. I tend to view God in the form of a Supreme Architect and that we, using reason and logic, can discern his existence and understand his creation.

* I also believe that God has no gender, but the prevailing linguistic use is masculine, so I'll use that.

Well i find it funny as well since im atheist, but lots of people would find it offensive.
Let me just say that i respect people's beliefs and that i have a ton of friends who are religious... i just dont give much for it myself.

Why is it that i ' cant see ' ?

Well.... I guess its due to the society & what i have seen throughout my life.

Its funny, but it gets Islam wrong and seems to favor atheism.

I'd modify the atheism description to say something that doesn't make it seem better.

Oh trust me, I disagree strongly with most everyone here. I'm just keeping to myself.

As for the "Religions of the World", HILARIOUS! But Shatner's right about the Islam one. The Protestant one is a bit off though, we still believe you can work as hard as ever and sh*t'll still happen one way or another. For Islam I'd say "Sh*t can be dictated". Protestant I'd say "More sh*t means more reward later."
