(bump)

Primary box for software development, digital video, and CAD: Mac Pro hexacore Xeon (great for viewing images of hexapodal creatures from Pandora ). Dual-booted Mac OS / Windows 7.

Media center and couch-surfing box: Dell Precision 390 Core2 Quad running Windows 7. Connected through wall to TV in adjacent room (that way: no fan noise!).

Not pictured:
* Amiga 3000/25 running Workbench 3.0
* 2x Silicon Graphics Indigo R4k running IRIX 6.2

Computer picture thread, meh. ... wait a minute, my PC is kinda cool.

I didn't have a case so I made one. It's kinda heavyweight but silent

I love it! You should paint it with watercolors or something. It's begging for that!

Back in college, my roommate and I rescued an enormous old Sun workstation (deskside unit) from the school's surplus auction for $10, gutted it, and turned it into a PC. Redundant 400W power supplies (linear--huge!)... fun project. Only trouble was, when school was over, neither of us had a way to get the beast home, so off it went. D'oh!!

Nice

My PC hasn't changed in looks recently, although I added a few more hard drives because my old ones were getting too full with Neytiri pictures

Hopefully those Neytiri pics are on a striped/mirrored RAID volume or something!

Yeah, nice case fosus. Looks really sturdy.

I wish I had taken pics of the Lexan sheet pc I stuck together a while ago. I basically got a 24x24 inch sheet of lexan and bolted all the parts to it. Redneck pc.

Yeah, the inside of my desktop hasn't changed much either save for the massive cpu heatsink I managed to stuff in there.

That does look pretty nice.

Paint the sides black and it would look very similar to a cm 690II

Well then, my turn I guess! I'm too lazy to take a new picture, this is the set-up, and it's really only cleaner than this picture. PRIVATE STUFF!! Back Off.

Of course
2x RAID1 arrays - never keep your data on a single drive
