Default Fear.. The purest of all feelings?

I was walking my dog in the middle of a dark forest when a thought came into my mind: What if I now heard a scary sound from somewhere around me? I'd get mad scared. Well there was no sound, but I remember when I was a few years younger, I used to be a little afraid of being alone in a dark place.

Once when I was outside at night I got frightened by a sound which was probably an echo of my own step. I broke into run, got inside the house and closed the door behind me as fast I could.

Fear. It's an overwhelming, pure feeling. I love it.

People learn to hide their emotions, as it's clearly needed in this world... If you hate something, you can always fake a smile. If you truly love something, you can still pretend not to like it. But when you get sincerely frightened by something, it shows. There's no way to hide it.

That's why I love fear as a feeling.
I just love pure feelings.

EDIT: I didn't mean I was into being afraid of something

Thoughts?

Interesting... But personally. I prefer love to fear... it's more pleasant, but so much harder to find

Very interesting indeed Fosus I've been experiencing the exact same thing!

For example... as kid when my family only had a TV in the basement, I usualy watched TV till it was dark outside. So when I was on my way up again I had to: 1st. Close the lights... 2nd. Close the door... 3rd. Walk up the stairs... 4th. Not looking back down, there was a door to the side of the stairs which I thought a witch were living lol... 5th. Close the stair lights, trying not to look down the stairs again since it created a very mellow sort of darkness, you couldn't see the end of the stairs, it just dissapeared into the dark. And 6th. Walk into my room right beside the top of the stairs.

That my room was placed besides the stairs like that made a really huge difference for me when I, for example, sometimes went to the bathroom at night. So when I opened my door I was always met by that horrific darkness... I even imagined at point that I saw a head at the bottom of the stairs at some points... maybe even eyes here and there...
Just these sort of things really **** up your brain >.<

One more thing that I do quite often is to "What if..." O.o It might not sounds as much... but add something to that and... "What if a group of zombies slowly made their way through my bed and dragged me under to feed on my flesh..." Twisted right?!

And now I just discovered that the door in my current room is wide open, and it's late so I should probably close it... but... it is dark in the hall way outside my room
I know nothing can (hopefully...) happen to me! NO TROOLS! NO WITCHES!!! NOTHING!!!
Still I can feel the chills up my spine

Yep! Fear... it's a powerful but dangerous too. (and scary too )

Now... let's see if I can get that door closed!

idk about "loving" fear, the only thing I have to add is
"The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself."

Wow, some nice experiences

Few years ago my family lived literally in the middle of the forest. When I took a walk with my dog at night I used to have a big ass spotlight to point at everywhere. I never got afraid of anything with it.

Once I had another flashlight with me, so i placed the big spotlight on snow, pointing upwards. It looked awesome from a few hundrend meters away, a small lightbeam pointing up to the stars.

I beleive the feeling your describing as "liking" isn't the fear itself, but the adrenalin rush that accompanies it.

I get my fix in EVE, right before you know your fleet is about to engage an enemy fleet, your hands get a little shaky, heart starts beating faster. God, I love it.

Yes! That happens to me when playing bzflag. There's a flag that makes killing one of the enemies kill each and every one in the opposite team, but on the other hand, if you get shot while carrying it, your whole team dies.

Just talking the flag makes my hands shake and hear beat faster
