Hi, new here and just want to see if there's any other devoted fans to the game around here. Main reason I'm here today is just to mess around with Eltu beacuse I've just manage to reach the Monolith with nothing but the knife and a handgrenade in X16 for the burning ball ^^
My playthrough in numbers:
Knifekills: 197 stalkers, 2 bloodsuckers, some snorks, some dogs and those annoying ratt thingys.
RGD-5 grenade: The flaming thingy in X16.

But enough of that, which game in the series do you think is the most enjoyable? Tell me your thoughts.

First of all - andisavatar, ROFL
(for the uninitiated, he does this to every single new person he meets)

And secondly - as far as I know there are a lot of people here who plays (and loves) S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

GP-5 - those stats are INSANE... I can hardly beat the game in a normal fashion

Oh and.. I really should pick up the two second games, would love to try them

Haha, well well he can join me on my pink cloud if he wants to^^

When I was playing with my knife I found a lot of new places I hadn't seen earlier. Found them beacuse I had to run like a fool all the time and get behind cover every god damn second so I found a lot of new stuff that I didn't find in my earlier playthroughs. For examples I found this rifle:
Sniper TRs-301 - The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Wiki - Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, Call of Pripyat and more
I'm thinking of making a new playthrough where I mainly use this rifle and then I just play as usual. I want to see how many kills I score in a regular run so that I can see the difference between that and my knifeplay.
Another thing I found that really helped me out in the begining of the game was a merc suit that I found laying around in the first rookie village... the one that you spawnes at. Makes the start a whole lot easier.
But I'm also thinking about killing everyone in sight to see how many stalkers there is in the game. Well well one of them it is^^

Eltu, I can give you the succsessors on monday if you want them. Personaly I think they aren't quite as good as the first one but they still have the unique Stalker feeling all over them so you should atleast try them. And I think you would like to test Clear Sky. New engine in that one... It isn't as stable as the original in my opinion but it's quite interesting. I really think you will find the graffics quite interesting in it.
I can also give you the movie if you want it :3

Nice. Another Stalker fan.

I'd have to say Shadow of Chernobyl is my favourite. Though Clear Sky's blowouts are a brilliant touch. If you want them in SoC, get the Oblivon Lost mod.
I've completed the game, but I still can't get the good endings. I forget the encoder.

Lol, I did the same thing as soon as I found out. In the first versions of the game though, it was a Stalker Suit. I just sold it to Sidrovich.

Ah, I love that game. But X18 still freaks the hell out of me.

Iäve heard that there should be a mod like that out there but I never catched the name of it. Thank you Actually I've never played a modded version of the game... I'm looking forward to this one, just gonna make another playthrough first. I haven't gotten all the ending for any of the games yet (Don't know how many there is in the sequels) but I'm going for my fifth end in Shadow of for the moment. My goal is to have less than 50k RU's and bad carma.... in other words.... Hey there is a guy with a guitar....stab stab stab stab.

Oh so there was another suit before the patches... and you sold it ^^
I've gone through the game twice before without patches and now I'm running it on the fifth patch. It's a new game for me. Suddently quests that didn't work before springs to life and I discover new things constantly. It makes me all warm and fussy on the inside^^
There is one thing I don't like with the patches thou. It feels like it much easier to get into the NPP itself. If you just run and don't stop no one hits you. In my kniferun I managed to get myself inte the NPP only dying three times from the start to the end of the map. I wasn't able to do anything like that in the unpatched version. Acording to what I can remember the unpatched version was harder at some locations.

Have some of you tried the Extem Mod? I've seen it around for a while and I think I might try it some day but it would be nice to hear some opinions about it first :3

And yes.... X18 is the Soviet definition of hell.

No problem. I haven't got the mod just yet, but I'm planning to as soon as possible.
My current goal is probably to get the good ending, and to get to 'Legendary Stalker' status in a short time. This included the one man siege of the bandit place near the camp. I used a Viper 5 I got from selling stuff to Sidrovich.

Lol. If only the guitar was a usable weapon.
Yeah, I actually had the unpatched version for quite a while. It stuffed up, so we bought a new version, now with patches. Sure, no stalker suit, but a merc suit's better than nothing.
I remember Prypiat being harder than the NPP in the unpatched game...

I haven't got that mod yet, but I'll check it out. Could you give any details?

And yes, X18... (shivers). Monsters everywhere, creepy sounds, darkness, and to top it off, more enemies when you get out.

Love it, but pretty annoying buying those expensive rifle bullets.

Yes... there's just something special with firing sniper rounds from a "handgun"... it's more like a canon in disquise than a gun. I kind of like it^^

For the moment I'm going all out on silenced weapons.... as far as I know there is not more than 5-6 silenced weapons in the game and two of them is pistols.... to simplify my playthrough this far.... jam jam jam jam.

And Mr.Andis.... You've always been here.
