To people who think like fkeua vrrtep, I pity you, because you only focus on the bad things of life.

This is why I really doubt you understand...

I see positive things, but it's just that for most people, what there is is out of reach, or only a shallow imitation of how things should be.

Don't get me wrong. A lot of good has happened in the world as a result of our progress but there are still important things we have to accomplish. The day we stop caring about the world is the day it ends.

*sigh* Did you read the thread? Enjoy your blue pill.

Yes, there are good things in life, but the problem is that said things are quickly disappearing, either because they are being destroyed, or your freedom to experience them is being taken away. Whether you like it or not, you need to focus on the bad things because they are actively destroying the good things.

"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing" - Edmund Burke

God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off." - Tyler Durden

Unless the "bad" things being focused on nonexistent, or else not as "bad" as they seem to someone, and the person dwelling on them is just paranoid... like much of what I've seen in certain places...

So you belong to those people who like to overlook the bad things in life , beacause the ban ones obviously overweigh the good ones , as long as you are living in the so called western civilization as I do , referring to society .

It's somehow my nature to filter out the things that don't fit into the picture , I'm a person who tries to improve things , but that's a rather hard job since you can't change almost anything in larger scales .

And after analyzing the society I live in I must say it pretty much makes me sick that I have been born into it , and at the same time I'm sorry for the people who are living in it , but that's what everyone has to find out for themselves , for my part I have been thinking about leaving my home country for a couple of years now and give it a shot to find a sense in life , because I'm getting literally bored if not on the way to becoming sick of the place and many people that mainly surround me , not in my personal area considering friends and family , but the society as a whole .

Well, I'm still discussing Fkeua's first post. I'm not going into the whole "change" business with the debate.

Oh come on, we aren't going to start with the "bad overweighs the good" crap again, because in reality, the bad is probably about 51% while the good is 49%. If not that, maybe closer, like 50.2% bad, 49.8% good. "Overweigh" is hardly the word to use. More like "slightly passes".

I'm curious from where you got those numbers , if you actually believe that , you are truely a blind man .

Is he?

These are our bad problems:

Our planet is heating up from global warming into the next ice age. A process that has occured before, and may very well be natural.

Our seas and lands and skies are getting polluted. Yet many people are attempting to change that.

War - every animal fights. We just do it in an advanced form.

Don't get me wrong, I dont overlook the problems, I just don't see a point in dwelling on them all the time. I know it is important to know and understand the situation we are all in. But, it is equally important to know and understand the good things in life as well. (To people who say "The bad outweighs the good." It is like that because you have chosen it to that way)

Cheer up and smell the roses

So much truth in that quote. The best things in life are being **** on by people who have lost their souls to greed and power. No where near enough people care or understand for boycott action to be effective, people are fooled so easily by corporations and happy to do what 'society' demands. Most people wouldn't even appreciate or deserve the rewards achieved by defeating the corporations.

Well, if you keep droning on about the bad things, do something about it!

I'd love to but I don't know where to start or who to go to to achieve real change. In real life we cannot wait for our 'Toruk Makto' to arrive.

Then no offense, but it seems odd to me. If you want something to be done, you have to do it yourself. The leader of your country isn't going to do it for you unless you challenge his power, either by taking his position, or revolution.
