I'm a bit afraid of this too. Grown-up eyes can fully adapt and get used to the unnatural 3D sight of TV's and cinemas. My eyes even adjust to red/cyan 3D glasses so that after a while I can hardly notice the glasses are colored (kinda funny, because when I take the glasses off my left eye sees blue and right eye sees red). But young, developing eyes are definitely in danger.

Didn't hurt me either (so far as I know). When I was 10 I had two magic eye posters on my wall (one of a dinosaur and one of some leaping dolphins), and at least five books of magic eye pictures. Used to spend hours leafing through those.

Then in 1997 Pathfinder landed on Mars and I was always on the PC downloading the latest 3D images of the Martian landscape and looking at them through red-blue anaglyph glasses.

Different technologies, same principle.

3D tvs are very different to the things you two are talking about. And besides there is a difference between the things you have mentioned and watching a 3D tv on a regular basis. Just read around and you will see what I'm talking about.

Thread sorta veered off topic.

Has anyone noticed that the Limited Collector's Editions have been sold out?

There are a few on Ebay but they're selling them for twice the original price. [grrr]

Yea it has been sold out on each site that was selling it for about a week or so.

The ones on eBay are pretty expensive, ranging from $225 - $265 (Canadian dollars). I have every one listed on eBay in my watch list because I want to see if people are buying them, which they are.

One person sold 2 for $240, one person sold 3 for $225, and one currently has a bid of $155, which is about how much it costs.

There is? What is it? I used to spend hours leafing through stereoscopic images.

I really want to get my hands on one but I don't have the money (yet). I'll be so disappointed if they're all gone by the time I do.

I can't get parents to pay, they already know I'm obsessed. Hopefully one will still be available by November.

Maybe if you paid partially for it? I'm doing that for the collector's.

All this scaremongering about 3D is just that - scaremongering.

Also yeah, the Collector's Edition has been sold out for quite a while now

The first Avatar blu-ray broke records. Wonder if this one will as well?

Human No More means the Collectors Edition, which is the standard one everyone can buy and basically every store that sells Blu-rays will sell. The other one is the Limited 'Exclusive' Collectors Edition which is the one that was only available for pre-order on four different sites in the UK.

It very well could. Lot's of people didn't purchase the April (barebones) release, so all of those people will buy the Extended Collectors Edition in November.

Plus don't forget everyone who already bought the April release and will also buy the Collectors Edition in November.

That could happen, but the barebones edition of Avatar was a mere $19.99 compared to the Collector's Edition $35.99. Still, it should sell millions of copies.
