I'm not sure we all think Bioware is necessarily evil, but the whole thing could've been executed much better. ME1 and 2 were excellent games, and there's no reason 3 couldn't have been even better.

IMO, the ending is its own masterpiece, but that doesn't mean the market will like it.

Having that ending be one option of SEVERAL would have made it a masterpiece.

But the same god damned thing for every one?

That's just dumb. I want to know what the **** happened. The quality of the game assets changed dramatically in those last 10 minutes, it looks rushed. What happened bioware? (although I wouldn't blame them for not saying, considering how many *******d have been splurging about how terrible a company they are because they didn't get their DLC for free! (whaaambluance incoming))

My first thought after reading this given the discussion we had earlier on.

I do not like Day 1 DLC for the reasons I gave earlier, but I bought the collectors edition, and for Mass Effect, I was willing to pay extra (hence I got the collectors edition).

But the ending. It was a tire iron to everything that is Mass Effect IMO.

Despite how terrible and half-assed the endings are, the rest of the game is actually...pretty good. Mass Effect 2 will still be the best of the series though.

wat

Even with its terrible last 10 minutes, ME3 successfully bridged the storytelling of ME with the flowing combat and free roaming feel of ME2.

Also, you guys must have seen the Tali face ****.

I've just seen this, and I can honestly say that Bioware must have sold it's frigging soul. That is absolutely insulting.

As I said.

It looks like they hit a deadline and had to scramble to meet it.

I would've much rather they delayed it for 5 more months and got everything perfect. I adored every second up to the last 10 minutes. In the last 10 minutes they managed to ruin 100 hours worth of playtime.

How this possibru?!

I haven't seen it yet, but I heard

I've avoided specific details of the endings, but form clues in general, I'd say it sounds like they just stopped caring, since Mass Effect is done now, no more money from it (even if there WAS another game, it'd make a lot less between this, origin and the DLC mess).

You're going to flip a table when you see it.

Oh...my god.

Not really. I'd buy another ME game. Everything except those last 10 minutes was absolutely amazing. Its an incredible game. 10/10 without a doubt. Except those 10 minutes.

I'm quite ok with seeing Tali's face. It was beyond my expectations, but really, I didn't care what her face looked like. I get this feeling some people liked her because she has the aura of a teddy bear around her. I liked her because she was so mysterious, omgz smart, interesting physiology, and so much more. In a nutshell, curiosity.

She actually looks like Zoe come to think of it. She's just as beautiful without the mask than with one.
This is her. Spoiler alert.

Don't get me wrong, I don't care about how she looks. I care that it's a stock photo, poorly photoshopped and rushed out into the game. Bioware clearly knows this is important to Tali fans, as they've been building the tension for THREE. GAMES. Then they do this? THIS?

Just...wow.

Does she look like I imagined? Really, no. Is it absolutely terrible on the same magnitude as the DLC ripoff or the crap ending? I don't think so, even if it isn't amazing. I'm far more annoyed about the DLC and the stupidly awful ending.
Edit: The fact that it's a free stock photo does make it worse... Couldn't they even create any art for it, or were they too busy cutting out finished game assets to charge for?

I'll probably buy it.
There's no way I would. Encouraging companies to release something unfinished and charging for what should have been there in the first place is a bad idea. As was pointed out on IRC, Skyrim's latest patch is adding new features, for free. If they end up charging for something, it'll be a full expansion and not just a couple of extra weapons that took all of a day to make, or a character that was included in the normal install but just commented out in a config file so they could extort $10 from players for it. It's sad really, BioWare used to have my respect (even if it did take them ages to release ME1 for a decent platform), as they made two great games, but EA have ruined them.
