I've been seeing a lot of threads recently that are downright depressing and show only the negative parts of humanity. It's sad to me because I live in a state that is very warm and caring of one another and there are tons of people who fight everday for this state and for other parts of the world. There is a reason we're called Colorful Colorado and I'm not talking about the scenery. I want this thread to be a reflection on all the great things humanity has done, whether it be locally or not. The links I'm going to post are all local.

Denver is such a nice place.
but anyway.i only post negative things do draw people attention to them, and maybe start a discussion. if nobody knew these things nothing would be done about them. but i agree with you that there are good deeds being done. nobody is born a bad person, different life factors change their behavior i guess. it is easy to highlight someone as bad, but you must look to see why they behave like that. its a tough world. but we can all help each other. |

I just think we need some kind of balance. We should not just only look at the bad, that just depresses people. But we also shouldn't shove the problems under the rug and ignore it. I think we should take some bad in with the good, which is why I made this thread :3

For all that is bad, a lot more good is done.
Here's something from my local area I remember a while back in the local newspaper. ‘Angels’ doing kind deeds this Christmas season Even the most seemingly simplest of things we do has a big impact. |

there are things in our life we cannot control. when there is bad news about something we could have prevented, it makes the news even worse. i like to post about bad news just to see what the reaction is.
if you want, i can post bad news and you can post good news?

Yes, Humanity can be good, if humanity wasn't good we couldn't find out there are phenomenons like Romantism, Renaissance or Antiquity. If humanity wasn't good we now wouldn't know about DaVinci, Lorenzo Bernini or Michelangelo.
And so many other things... in other words, we first have to be good inside ourselves, then show it to the world, and things will change. We have to be the change that we want in this world, and it will be good for all of us.

I try not to dwell on the negative to varying levels of success. If you watch the news you can become convinced that almost nothing good ever happens since all they seem to cover is the negative. I can assure everyone that good things are happening just about everywhere.

Ahh, now you hit the nail on the head there caveman!
![]() This place itself provides inspiration itself in how we interact with each other from around the world and even work together. I have experienced this at first had today when I received a thank you card from one of our number regarding the Avatar Communities Film Project. That meant so much to me. Such a project could not have happened if it wasn't for the likes of the good people here and on AF coming together to take a major issue that affects all of us and say something constructive together about it. The thing is bad news travels fast, it sells, people like gloating at it. But good news simply caries on quietly minding it's own business and warms the hearts of those who are close to it... |

I never said people weren't.
One of humans' most obvious attributes it their variance, how different people can be... while there are people who really do not deserve to live, there are people who do amazing things

Here's my contribution. Now think how much better the world would be if we put our effort and resources towards things like THIS, or to turning back environmental damage, instead of using it to bomb the hell out of each other, or trying to control each other. It seems like any time we develop something that has the possibility of doing good, one of our first instincts is to weaponize it. The world spends $1.1 Trillion on weaponry anually, couldn't that be going to something so much better?

Hey dont forget about Texas here down south! We dont get credit for our southern hospitality for nothing
When ive made vacations to big cities and such when I get home to Texas (granted I do stay in the smaller more cowboy-ish towns XD) it seems people are much kinder ![]() I think it is easy to get caught up in all the bad especially since I started watching the news again. It seems that news channels always report the bad things happening when I care more to see about all the good! There really is lots of good out there just seems that some people only look for the bad :/

Umm okay? Who's saying that you thought that?
That was morbid. All people deserve to live. Please don't bring my thread down, it's suposed to be positive.
