Resurrecting this thread. Test iteration #3 of the new character creator has come out. It looks much better than before.

Even with this amazing avatar program, the eye scale and incorrect breast alignment are an issue. It doesn't seem natural at all. And the eye scale, that's almost non-existent in several face generators.

I'm petitioning for a new character. To anyone who has had issues with their character but already made him/her, Id strongly advise you to petition for a new one. If your familiar with petitioning or your just plain new, you go to:
  1. Go to EVE Online - a massive multiplayer online roleplaying space game - MMORPG
  2. Log into your account. On the forums or on that main page, doesn't matter.
  3. On the left part of your screen on the web page, you'll see a variety of tabs (EVE Fanfest 2011, EVE Alliance Tournament, etc.). Click on EVE Support.
  4. The Tab will collapse down and you'll see options. Among those options is "Create New Petition"
  5. Once your there, select the category drop-down box and select 'Other Issues'. You'll see a new drop-down box after that. Click and select 'Character Portrait Swaps'
  6. For the title, announce that you want a new portrait instead of a swap. Like "Portrait Swap Requested". Your allowed a description to state the desire of your petition. Make a firm note that you want to start anew with your Avatar.
CCP Fallout gave a message late on the day of launch for Incursion, which was the 18th. Request it when you still have the chance, this will last for only so long before they charge you. It's free for now.

I didn't notice this but:
The Character Creator isn't near completion at all. So many options and the inability to select new families have lead to complete rag on the EVE Forums. This kind of outcry will get answered I'm sure, but your required to build an avatar for yourself within the first week of initial release before your forced to.

I'm tempted to look into EVE again, but I bet CCP still hate solo players

Being alone in a game like this is suicide. If your in a corporation that suits your playstyle, all of your ships combined will keep you safe in High-Mid security zones. Along with many benefits. The hard part is to find this corporation, and if you decided you like them, let the good times roll... and alot of time. Besides, you don't want to join up right now if your a miner.

Hulkagaddon is approaching...

Look at the info next to the portrait..

Tells you what I look for in a Corp, let alone an alliance. <_<

Meh, corps all want something in the end. I was in a few in my time playing, and then spent quite a while as a solo player (well, with an alt as well). The last corp I was in was fine and actually quite fun for a while until certain people decided to take power for themselves (protip: making a corp from merging 2 never works out well) and turned into pirates and removed everyone from the other corp from the director positions. In the end, I had much more fun afterwards though, doing what I wanted without being told what to do and keeping my friends limited to a few channels rather than a corp. After all, CCP always did sell EVE as being open and allowing players to do what they want. I mined a little, ran missions, built a lot, occasionally killed griefers. It was fun but CCP don't like solo players, so I'm done with EVE.

CCP hates solo players no more than life hates solo, people. Everything in life that can be done, can be done more efficiently with more people. Don't blame CCP for a simple fact. EVE is the purest MMO out there, its not single player, if you want single player, I suggest "Freelancer". (awesome game btw)

Those new avatars are amazing, however, Ms Tenn seems to have wrinkles on her brow
If I had spare time and money, I tell ya.....

EDIT: It adds distinction Aihwa, gives her a "matronly" look

You must of had a run of bad luck, but alas your point has alot of merit. If you have a leader that expresses crappy leadership with terrible foresight, it's probably a good sign that if something goes wrong, you better not hesitate to break your connections with that corp and it's people. You need to find a group of people who fit your personal profile (whatever that may be) and their aspirations as a corporation prior to considering. Being a drifter is a good thing in EVE, but you should always have a direction for yourself in terms of research and fittings (dedicated to either PVP or PVE). Being with friends is great, but it isn't nearly as efficient, as Isard states. In Lord of the Rings Online, a much more relaxed MMO, you could run very well as a loner. At some point, you would of had to join a Kinship/Corporation for the large number of fellowship(group) quests the game requires from you. If you have a bad history with corporations, maybe your not asking yourself all the right questions that should be relaying to your potential bosses.

In my corp, it goes like this
If you dedicate your ship, time, and loyalty to the corporations objectives and survival. Insurance is given in full for destroyed ships + fittings lost, and partial payment for a new clone if your pod killed. As an industrial corporation in high-border low sec, expect loose bands of pirate alliances to gank you. It's highly recommended that you join mining opps for your own security, and also because it's more fun!
Were quiting this alliance we have FYI, an alliance is supposed to joint corporations together toward a common goal. Alot of tension has brewed between us and this corp; they don't help us fight when their is about 40+ players in the alliance that are online. 1 or 2 of them would of made a difference, their was always a group 4 ships surrounding our home spaceport. They have been hunting us, and us to them, for the past 3 weeks; and the alliance has not cooperated at all. These enemies are the alliances problem, not ours. What finally caused us to quit outright was this: Their is a pirate alliance bordering our region of space. These are the regions where our War Targets are coming from. Due to the lack of ships and players online, they have had very low levels of active players. Six corporations jointed together at a flashpoint this morning with the intention to wipe out their base of operations in a few systems, and to control the occupied sector. With over 70+ ships docked at a space station, CCP declared that our act of retaliation was, I quote, "illegal" and everyone returned to their agent hub stations. If CCP were in-game and in our position, this would be seen as a rare opportunity.... god da..

It was an amazing site. Alot of orcas were retrofitted for Fleet bonuses and their was even 2 carriers! I've only seen 1 of those in my 2 years of playing.

Had this fight a few minutes ago:

and then this gank a few minutes later:
