Ouch, even National Express will cost me ~£40

Ironically, the train would actually cost me slightly less as well as being a lot more convenient for getting there, but I'd be waiting around until 6am for the first one back

This is starting to look very complicated to get there, especially as there is no way I can afford a hotel

Like others, I would totally love to attend but I too live on the other side of the pond. Nevertheless, I hope that 'Our Only Home' does get screened there, that would be really cool.

A hostel, perhaps? Certainly not as comfortable, but definitely a lot cheaper.

Really! Not sure where you are located, but when I looked up London to Birmingham is comes out from £3:50 to £12:50 each way! See link (hope it works):
National Express Coach

If you are able to book in advance the train can be quite cheep too. If you need any help sorting it out drop me a PM. It would be great if you could join us.

I'd be interested indeed, but still, the issue for me is the cost.

I went to the re-release in London and it literally cost me upwards of about £300 for on night. Birmingham is even further away...

£300! Bloomin' eck! For one night? Blimey!

Well you might be pleasantly surprised that Birmingham is closer than you might think than London. I just check and it's 2 hours from Cwmbran to Birmingham and £36:60 return on the train. If you went National Express bus, not sure where it picks up, but it might be in Newport and I think it works out at no more than a tenner each way. Hotel in Birmingham about £50 for the night. Watching Avatar SE with friends - priceless!!! OK, it's £9.60 at the IMAX.

Hope that helps, matey.

Hmm, it does to a degree...

I'll have to consider it a bit more thoroughly, but it sounds semi-reasonable. Am I correct in saying the date is the 15th of November though?

Great! The day is the 5th November. So there's still plenty of time to think it over.

I'll be speaking to the lady at the IMAX on Wednesday to firm things up and confirm the date when they are showing Avatar.

For those outside the UK and may not know 5th November is fireworks night to 'celebrate' and act of terrorism!! Well nearly..

You see, there was this bloke called Guy Fawkes a few hundred years ago who tried to blow up the Houses of Parliment. Well he got caught and met a bit of an unsavoury end. So we 'remember, remember the 5th of November' by having rather large bonfires and fireworks...

There, you see. Free history lesson on the forum!

Hopefully I will be speaking to the IMAX lady tomorrow to sort out if they will be able to show our forum film. If not, no matter as we'll still be going to watch Avatar SE in the IMAX for possibly the last time before it is gone forever...

I shall report back.

Ahhh, yeah. Shame there isn't some Ikrans you can all jump on and come over. It'd be a blast for us all to meet up. Is there still an opportunity for someone to organise a meet up over your way? I'm guessing it must still be playing somewhere over your way?

Hey x...Pandora...X Did you manage to have your Avatar day at your school?

Yeah, I wish we could all meet up...

TheIknimaya, if you can get a train, go for it... it's cheaper if you book in advance on the internet and you can check all the times to get there in good time

Too late now, last night was the last showing, and it was only playing at 6:45 p.m.

If I hadn't already seen it in IMAX 3D I would be mad.
