At least one church in my town has apparently convinced the people that go there that bieng homosexual is a disfunction of the brain. Now I was to filled with awe and confusion that I couldnt argue. So now there are people in my class that believe that bieng gay is some sort of brain disorder. Is it? Idk what do you think. Just another example of churches having to much control over people.

Well from my experience a lot of people who I know turned Gay/Lesbian because of a bad relationship or a traumatic experience when they were little. So no I don't think it's a brain dysfunction.

There are chemical differences in the brain. But I wouldn't call it a dysfunction. They're just different.

It is spelled "being" not "bieng"
No it is not a brain disfunction. From what I've read, it seems like the catholic church (and the other churches that formed out of it) caused the homophobic way of life. I think homosexual was common in the Roman/Greek era (if I remember correctly).

Perhaps it's really nothing more than applying a label. Plenty of other groups might be willing to jump on the "brain dysfunction" bandwagon. Liberals can call conservatives that and vice versa.
I would say that it is all about the context. For example if you are looking at it from the "our bodies only serve to propagate our genes to the next generation" angle, then yes it is a dysfunction. For the world I live in, not so much. There are a lot more other dysfunctional people that cause me more problems than the gays. They are way down the list. I was going to post the classic picture we've all seen of Picard facepalming... But I felt that this needed more than just one facepalm, so here's an entire video of facepalms:

No, it's not a brain dysfunction. Most scientists think it is either genetic, or an overexposure to estrogen while the person was in the womb. It is also a form of population control, to keep a portion of the population from breeding.
Most people who call it a dysfunction are just xenophobes, and homosexuality usually isn't their only target as something "dysfunctional."

There are any number of causes or factors, from genetics to upbringing to choice. None are in any way a brain dysfunction though, people can choose to live their lives how they want without there being anything wrong.
