Sea shepherd has three vessels out for the antarctic anti-whaling operation this time. They are bigger, faster and better equipped than ever. Here is what is replacing the Ady Gil:

True that; and it's almost as big as the Shonan Maru (the ship that sank its predecessor) so the ramming will be a lot fairer this year.

So you acknowledge they intend to ram people?
That's a trimaran. It will not come off as well if it rams a conventional hull.

I don't think they intent to ram with the trimaran though, they will leave that to the two monohulls.

The two they've so far failed to do anything with?
Look at all the historical results of ramming, more often than not, it destroys both. Also, a deliberate act of ramming is piracy.

We established the illegality of their operation long ago. They just don't care.

The best would ofcourse be if the international community could get their tumbs out of their rear parts and amass a protective fleet that protected the Antarctic whales. Then the Sea Shepherd did not need to butt heads with Japanese whalers. But since the international community still does nothing organistations like Sea Shepherd just have to go on protecting the whales from being slaughtered.

They've prevented the slaughter of a sizeable number of whales. They need to keep this up.

^ This.
It doesn't matter how it happens, something needs to be in place to stop the whalers' activities. Whether it be a piece of paper in a law book or direct action, I don't care. |

It does matter. Granted, I am against whaling. We have other ways to get oil now without resorting to whales. However, these "sea shepherds" are using terrorist tactics. They are endangering lives and destroying livelihoods and that isn't right. Something else should be done to stop whaling without resorting to destroying property and endangering innocent fishermen's lives who are only trying to make a living.

It may be against some laws, it may seem stupid or irrational, but if it helps the environment, I couldn't care less about the consequences.
