Probably quite a lot
Doubt they'll be out for quite a while anyway... I still want them when they are though - I wonder how much a full set of Na'vi markings would be...

EDIT: Sorry for the doublepost... my phone has a tendency to make them for some reason

I think it's a lot cooler than normal tattoos. But I don't think I'd get one though.

I'm wondering how they would implant complex patterns using wired LEDs. Do they just...remove...an entire section of skin?
Just take the automobile Hybrid idea where every time it stops, it creates energy for the electric motor. Make it much smaller, get an amplifier and hook it up to your heart and voila! Instant human LED implant battery

Yeah, but what if that somehow drags on your heart's workload and lessens your life by a year or something?

Depends, if it is like when I'm really old and unfit, then I might be ok with it. So long as it doesn't decrease healthy life years I'd think be ok with it. Think of it this way, every time you eat or drink something unhealthy you cut back on your lifespan.

The power is more likely to be from the natural electrical potential which is generated by the skin, which has been proposed as a way to charge things like phones and mp3 players before, although in the future it could also be powered by synthetic respiration which is simply added to the normal load, as LEDs have a very low power draw.
