It seems that the infamous Jackass has been brought to us in 3D. Do we really need that?

Why not?

Why not indeed? The entire point of 3D is that eventually, one day, films being in 3D will be no more special then them being in colour are now. Only bad 3D conversions (e.g. Clash Of The Titans) harm that, not more new films being made in 3D.

The basic question maybe ought to be: does the world need Jackass at all (2D or 3D or whatever)?

People having fun doing stupid things with their friends?

World does not need Jackass.
But like everything else: 2D > 3D |

If you don't like it, don't watch it.

I, personally am a fan of Jackass, Dirty Sanchez and all that kind of stuff.
For reasons unknown, I just find it thoughtlessly hilarious.

I just wonder: will anyone become wiser by seing Jackass? Does anyone become a better person? Does anyone develop and progress? Does anyone heighten themselves, or being more aware of the world after seing Jackass?

Of course not. People don't watch movies to become smart. They watch movies to become aware of things, such as Avatar, or Fight Club, or Platoon.

I like Jackass, I think it's funny. But I don't think there isn't much of a reason to put it in 3D.

...And I don't know what Fight Club could possibly make us aware of...? But then, I haven't seen it, so...Never seen Jackass; don't care. Personally, I don't go for stupid people doing stupid things on T.V. for enjoyment; particularly in 3D... unless we're talking about Who's Line Is It Anyway. ![]() Concerning the habit of 3D, I think moreso often than not, there are pretty bad movies converted to 3D just to rack up more cash, and usually have a bunch of gimmicks thrown in. This lessens the audience's perception of how 3D could be used for good films like Avatar. The more bad rep a system gets, the more people don't trust it to bring them anything they'd want to see. For instance, I've grown to learn that if a movie says "IN 3D!!!" somewhere in the title, or made totally apparent in the ad, I know not to see it because it's probably a stupid gimmick show with bright colors and sparkly lights. ... True, but it did make people aware of issues at that time.
'Fight Club' was about a group of revolutionist dudes who didn't seem too happy about society. Of course it'll make us aware of civilisation.

I don't think my life would be complete without seeing 3D vomit rocketing out of the screen.
