Avatar Gets Its Own Museum Exhibit

If you just can't wait until the next "Avatar" movie, get to Seattle. On June 4, 2011, the Experience Music Project|Science Fiction Museum (EMP|SFM) is opening AVATAR: The Exhibition. For the Avatar, you'll see props, displays and concept models from the blockbuster film, including a interactive displays to teach you about how motion capture and 3-D cameras work and how the virtual world of Pandora was created (No word if there will be a part where you can Na'vi yourself.)

The exhibition is going to be a unique opportunity for people to learn more not only about how the film was made, but also experience Pandora in a much deeper way. Fans will be able to see in-person the workmanship behind the film, whether it's how scenes are captured; or how a costume was built first as a real world garment then produced digitally," director James Cameron said in an emailed statement. "It'll create a tactical reality that'll be a good companion to having seen the movie

Exhibition Highlights:
- Artifacts and props used in the film -- including the full size AMP (Armored Mobility Platform) suit.
- Hand-made models of Na'vi characters and their wardrobes.
- Dynamic interactives demonstrating motion capture and 3D technologies.
- In depth looks into the creation of the world of Pandora, revealing the science of the universe, the creatures, the plants and origins of Na'vi culture.

$15 for adults; $12 for youth (ages 5-17), students, military and seniors; free for members and children under 5
