You know, a higher framerate probably means twice as much money will be spent on the sequel.

^^ not necessarily. Far from it I would say. It will double the cost to digitally render the film but not to produce it.

It won't even double the cost, because hardware improves all the time and older hardware's prices drop dramatically in the process, so relative CPU time gets cheaper all the time.

not to mention about new generation GPU's they are becoming so powerfull that in few years we could render it real time
