New forum sets sights on showing tron is better

i was looking up recent news on avatar and came across a sight called
Welcome to TRON vs Avatar! it seems to be created for one reason, to try and create the same hype that avatar had and to show tron is the better movie. it is trying to get ppl to post how many times they have seen the movie, and to get others to see it. now i am not saying anything bad about the new tron movie. but looking at the box office numbers it is doubtful tron will even equal to avatar in anyway.

plus nothing will ever compare to the first time any of us first visited pandora.

Ah well... I knew eventually this would happen, if not for TRON, then some other movie. Don't get me started... As stated earlier in this thread, Anyone or any forum, for that matter, whos sole purpose is to try and make one movie sound, or come off as being better than another, for whatever reason, is in for a quick demise.

I will most likely go see "TRON", for the same reason that I will go see "True Grit", they are different forms of visual entertainment, with a different story and message altogether.

For the record, however... I am extremely biased. IMHO, AVATAR is a HARD ACT to follow, despite what Hollywood thinks. I never listen to film critics! Nothing can compare to the passion and effort, as well as the "buckets of sweat and pints of blood", not to mention the financial costs, that went into the making of AVATAR. The proof is in the pudding... and it shows.

Crunching numbers based on opening weekend... Ima put its gross world total at somewhere near 1.5 billion by the end of its tenure. That is of course assuming that their growths stay constant in comparison to opening box office totals.

lol wow you went all out, nicely done. 1.5 bill is nothing to be sad about if i was disney. but i agree seems unlikely they would reach such a number.

It is good. I've seen the first tron and I liked it and comparired to the orignal, Legecy is just as good. I may want to see it one more time, but I think that's it. It's a good "I want to see this one more time" movie, but Avatar was a "OMG, I need to see this as much as possable on the big screen before it's gone." movie. Tron Is good, but Avatar is way better. AVATAR's record is safe.

they are not really comparing it (on that site maybe) in news they just use avatar as a comparison since it set the new bar for 3d movies. mainly the news part is just saying that Disney is trying to make it the new avatar, releasing on the same day , 3D, huge press cover, stuff like that.

i have not as well, however i have a friend who did some work on the cg for the movie. he's words to me were " yeah its good, but really not our best work". he works at the Vancouver film school, he did some work on it with some others there. however, i still plain to see it, if i have the time.

Tron has the stunning visuals of Avatar minus the natural beauty and the emotional connection. It's cool looking and a fun movie but that's it.
