Default It's a Wonderful Life

Just saw this movie for the first time (yeah I'm only about 60 years late), and I must say, it's quite inspiring. I also didn't realize they play it every Christmas Eve, so I'm probably going to make it a tradition to watch it every year to remember that with a paradigm shift, the glass can always be 1/2 full even when you're in debt, about to be arrested, etc... Just the fact that we're here and alive is enough.

Quite profound indeed. It's one of those movies that you regret putting off watching.

The plot summary reads like someone's moral crusade, then you read the ending and realise it is

its become a tradition in my family to watch this every Christmas Eve. It is probably one of the best movies ever made, especially around the Christmas season. So many "holiday" movies are either sappy or just stupid but Its a Wonderful Life isn't. Its about the struggle between one's dreams and the sad reality that sometimes life gives you. It also shows that ever person does make a difference in other's lives. It shows how important it is to be community and that each individual is worth something. George Bailey forgot that his life, although mundane and boring at times and frustrating at others is truly special and is never worth throwing away. Sure, it might come off sounding a tad preachy (many movies made in the 40's and 50's did that) but that doesn't negate the themes in the movie. In fact, when it came out in 1947, it was a box office plot. Many folks thought it was too depressing. However, after years of showing it on tv around Christmas, it gained a following and now it ranks as the #1 Christmas movie. I'm happy that you were finally able to see it The Man in Black .
