Kaltxi!

Well my Ikran brought me safely home to 'blighty' (as we call it over here in the UK) and I kinda fell like you are still around me, but when I look no one is there...bummer... Can't believe I'm sat in this room right now on mi tod, the memories are so vivid.

I'm a bit 'Donald Ducked' at the moment, if you get my drift, so will be getting some shut eye shortly. But tomorrow I will start up loading my stuff and getting stuck into the clan holiday video editing and pulling my thoughts together for the next one..and stuff. Oh and catch up with 2 weeks worth of emails!!! There is so much I need to catch up on, but first on the to do list is sleep...

By the way Aketuan, your poster is txantsan!!

Irayo everyone

Alan..zzzzz

Most. Awesome. Thread. Ever. Thanks apache_blanca for reminding me to look here! These messages really convey how special the event was and how moved you all were.

May I suggest that the logical time to return will be for the last days of the exhibition?

Interesting idea.

That would be some time in September 2012.

As a teacher, that would be a (minor) issue for me. And the weather in Seattle isn't exactly the best in September.

But I'm certainly up for researching the suggestion.

No, I really disagree.

Most people are really busy at the end of summer, and Seattle's weather really is crappy most of the time.

A meetup time of sometime next June/July was considered, and I think that one would work far better in regards to getting as many people as possible to come.

September tends to be ok, relatively speaking (not going to make any absolute statements here, as I'm clearly used to the crappiness! ). I think the bigger problem is just the 'school' factor. We already had one tsmukan miss out this year because of school. 'Twould be a pity to duplicate that dilemma when we now have a choice in the matter!

I'll be casting my vote for July.

Default an After Seattle thread maybe?

next July... does it mean ONE YEAR TO GO??? bummar... I should get used to hold my direhorses, by now...

Sempu: I'm glad you liked it, Awesome is the word

People, I wonder if somebody of you - who were there live & direct - would start an After Seattle Meetup thread? (I was going to say Seattle Aftermath but not sure if "aftermath" has a negative ring to it... ) I think it will be righter for one of you to do it than for me cos I wasn't there physically

Me, I wanted to ask you some things, & surely so do many other tsmukes & tsmukans. Besides, I guess you have loads to share. Altho you learnt to read each other's thoughts straightaway but still it would be nice to have them transcribed for those who were not there in body... if you wish so of course.

I leave it for you to decide. IRAYO for sharing all that we received until now!

I guess I finally got what my personal PSD is... it's "my people are there - and I am not!!!" Very reminiscent of PAD actually... I am going to listen to Avatar Soundtrack Pandora CD yet again, that's my cure...
Glad yall back safe & sound - & waiting for more stories to come!

I hope this won't be too much to post here; but I want to share my Avatar Wiki post from last Saturday:
Today was opening day of the exhibition and we got there very early to make certain that we were the first ones in .... it was a total mob scene! The exhibition was beautifully done with the definite ambiance of Pandora .... soft lighting with "bioluminscent" blue and purple hues throughout. There were many interactive displays and a lot of the actual "artifacts" from the film. I had a LOT of fun with the motion capture .... they filmed each individual against a green screen and navitized you as you were guided through the motions of one of the scenes from the movie .... and then emailed the video to you. My video must have gotten lost in outer space so I am going to try it again tomorrow when we go back to spend more time in the exhibition.
The panels .... EEEEEEK .... AWESOME! Laz Alonso, CCH Pounder, and Giovanni Ribisi were fabulous ... very entertaining, very well-spoken and completely down-to-earth. Unfortunately Michelle Rodriguez wasn't able to attend .... no reason given. :-( Each one of them had their own style .... Laz was incredibly animated and kept the audience laughing; Giovanni was more reserved but had a quick sense of humor; CCH was full of fire and passion. During the question and answer portion, they were never at a loss for words and took their time to answer everyone's questions thoroughly. No photographs allowed and no autographs given. :-(
During the day, as mentioned earlier, they were having Na'vi face painting; computer-navitized pictures, Na'vi art "classes", Na'vi dance and singing sessions; drumming sessions and a drum circle .... as much fun and interactive as they were, none of the dancing, singing and drumming were actually authentic Na'vi, so I didn't bother taking pictures to submit to you .... I was a little disappointed about that.
The technical panel on "The Creation of a New World" was a complete surprise .... I thought it would be a little dry and technical; the team of technicians that they presented were animated and funny and had so much interesting information to give us that they ran out of time. There were a total of five on the panel, Yuri Bartoli, Terry Notary, Glenn Derry, a guy from weta that had just flown in from New Zealand for the panel and one more tech, whose name I have forgotten .... sorry! The entire team was like a brotherhood and they spoke very briefly at the end of how happy they all are to be working on Avatar 2 and 3 together .... and that they would see us back at the museum in a few years! It was so neat to hear them talk about the future of Avatar. At the end of the panel, the group invited our group only to come down and meet all of them and get autographs.
One thing I especially want to do is say "Hi" to our very own Ellias! Ellias, thank you so much for introducing yourself at the conclusion of this panel .... I was so glad you were able to attend and it was such of a pleasure to meet you face to face. I look forward to more interaction with you in the future. :-)
Tonight, Kevin had arranged for us to use the breakfast room at the hotel for our own private group showing of Avatar and Mikko had brought all of the BluRay equipment with him that was necessary for our pizza and movie night. Can you even imagine what an experience it was to be in an intimate setting like that with 20 total Avatar geeks who love the movie every bit as much as you do? There are no words. Stay tuned for Sunday activities. Life is good!

thank you for sweet words, Ghaziya, I liked your human avatar in the photo!

right now I am overflowing with PSD though... I have just listened to that CD & cried rivers. Hope it had a therapeutic effect, like, letting it out... I'll see if I have any revelations while dreaming... it's quite late here.

I'll read your post later when I come back to my senses (eh?) but it seems fascinating, by the look of it!

Can finally say, is so tired of traveling, one more day, six more driving hours, and access to a decent computer!

So wishes she was still back in Seattle with all of you! *HUGS*

I suggested the last days because they might have special events/guests in association with them. But if not, then it doesn't matter.

You're right, and that's what I thought of at first too, but since so many Avatar fans are probably students of some sort, they would be wise to stage any extra events during the mid-summer next year instead of the Fall.
