I just didn't like the PC version. It...failed to pull me into the story. It seemed too linear to me. A universe so epically depicted suddenly seemed like things had been made just for the game. Example: Extra Na'vi weapons or some of the RDA vehicles. In my opinion, it just didn't fit.

PC for the same reason as HNM.
I enjoyed the game and had alot of fun with it. It can get abit same-ey and turns into a fetch quest. I dunno, i think on it's own merits the game is good, but i just had to get it regardless. |

if you going for the wii version go for da psp because it has better graphics literlly (or at least i think so) and the pc/360/PS3 version lets you becomes the RDA and kill na'vi (which imo never gets old

The wii game is actually pretty good: the graphics remind me of a story book.
![]() The pc game is better but in wii you get to see Neytiri's sister at Grace's school. I hope they make a sequel for the pc Avatar game, the current one doesn't do it any justice. I can't help feeling that it would of been loads better if it wasn't rushed.

Have the pc version and played through the Na'vi campaign a couple of times. But the Na'vi ending was disappointing IMO, very anticlimactic.

Yeah the ending was pretty bad, but the war hadn't finished and it was almost 2 years before Jake arrived, so I imagine the whole thing would be like.
There's no real celebration because we won the battle but the war is still going on. Oh well, maybe they'll pray at the newly awakened Tree of Souls?

Okay, here is the rundown in a very brief form:
Story The story to this game was quite different in the way it was told, allowing you to switch sides which doesn't happen too often in games now, or if it does, it's not done well, which Avatar did well. The story offered an insight on the back-story to the Avatar universe, which was nice. I felt the story was very repetitive (collecting shards had me going insane) and quite dry in some places, but overall, the story was good. We put out a trailer about that last month. Voice Acting Some of it was quite good, and authentic, but a lot of it (especially the Na'vi) was downright awful. Not much else to say here, except that it was recorded in pretty nice quality. Gameplay The gameplay was pretty smooth and fluent, though I found quite a few controls annoying (like the ability to change direction while dodging). Once surrounded by a lot of enemies, you were usually stuck (knocked over, get up and repeat) which was very frustrating at parts. I really did like the aiming system for the Na'vi though; it was very nice for the arrows. The RDA vehicles didn't handle too bad, but when vehicles hit rocks, they felt like driving jelly. Except the Dragon, I liked that. Bugs Where to start? Many bugs. There was many 'shortcuts' the developers’ chose which caused bugs like using (probably) ray casting to figure out hit detection with arrows. Using this caused objects to be hit by the arrow before the arrow physically got there. Not bad, but annoying to a fellow developer. Apart from that, there weren’t many problems with the game that were bothering the gameplay elements. Interface LOVED the swapping levels interface where it shows you the Pandoran world that you can skew over to find the correct location! The main menu was pretty tidy and well put together too. Pandorapedia You had a 'camera' in the game that let you analyze quite a lot of things in the game. Once analyzed, you can check out information on them in the Pandorapedia. The Pandoraedia was a very good way of telling information about the world and I learnt quite a lot from it, very handy. Graphics Very well put together. Not the best graphics for the Xbox, PC, PS3 (fsck the Wii and PSP, they were DISCRACEFULL), but they were not bad, and I could easily buy another game with the same graphics level and enjoy it. Overall I thought this game was fantastic even though it was repetitive and annoying at times. Definitely worth a buy on Xbox, PC or PS3. Notes: No way I'm detailing a full review here, I could go on for pages, I review games a lot, but I'm not getting paid and I don't have the time ![]() Yeah, that's my very brief thoughts about the game. |

FOXDIE130: That's a nice review, very sharp and to the point.
![]() For me I will excuse the Na'vi dialogue since the voice actors had no movie to base their pronounciation off, and only written words to go from. Personally the music and graphics helped to save the game for pc, however my main gripe was with the detatchment of Ryder, the main character and the loose story. Also there were inconsistancies with the details with the Na'vi such as lack of tail tufts and queues when connecting with the mounts. The Ikran controlls were also hard to master, especially with the invisable walls and rocks.

Yeah, pretty minor. I guess if you notice them, they bother you for the entire game!

Yeah, the Ikran controls were a pain. Lack of detail and language inconsistency aren't major problems though, and overall, I liked it. Haven't played on the human side though and don't want to, so not sure what that's like though
