Default Long James Cameron Interview + news tidbits

Here's a 40+ minute interview with James Cameron by James Murdoch (son or Ruppert Murdoch, FOX's big boss) at the Abu Dhabi Media Summit.

In the interview, they talk about a lot of things, notably:
  • JC plans to go down to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in a submarine and film a few shots for Avatar2 next year.
  • the 3D technology will soon be indistinguishable from reality (one can only hope!).
  • A certain FOX's exec (since canned or at least not working for the company anymore) said while Avatar was in production: "Is there any way to reduce this New Age, tree-hugging, hippy crap?"
Here's the link to the full interview

Also, at the end of the month, JC, Georges Lucas and other big players will hold a panel at CinemaCon, the annual convention of theater owners in Vegas. They'll be discussing digital cinema, 3D (of course) and the next day, JC will give a talk on projection frame rates.

About that last point, I made a post a little while ago (see here) where JC stated he wants to project Avatar 2-3 and probably his other projects at higher frame rates (48 or 60 fps instead of the usual 24). It'll be interesting to see what comes of it.

That's all for now, Cheers!

Edit: I forgot to add the link for the CinemaCon story, here it is: Linky
