When I saw Avatar for the first time, I don't think I'd ever even seen a trailer for it. I think I might have heard it mentioned a few times, but didn't know anything about the plot, or genre, or anything else.
Needless to say, this made me even more amazed once I saw it. But looking back, the trailer essentially gave away the entire plot. I'm sure if you read interviews and saw pictures and other things as well you could have pieced every major part of the movie together before having ever actually seen it. So has anyone thought about what they're going to do when advertisements and trailers and the like start coming out for the sequels? In an ideal world I would walk into the movie with no previous knowledge but I feel like that's going to be impossible. I guess I'm just afraid that we're more or less going to have everything figured out beforehand. And while of course that's only part of the picture, I feel like this would lessen the experience of it all. Has anyone else thought about this?
