Jake and his avatar

Kaltxi ma clan. Not sure if this topic has been brought up or not but I always wondered about Jake and the days he wasn't in the link during the daylight hours. It seems he is in the link and in his avatar mostly during the day but then in the evening that is when he would obviously be out of the link and out of his avatar.

I noticed there was at least one scene when Jake and Norm are talking in the shack and it was during the day. (picture below) There might be a few more scenes I have may have missed but it makes me wonder where did Jake "park" his avatar during those daytimes hours when not in the link and did Neytiri wonder where he was? Did he like go some place else away from the clan to leave it out of sight or did they already know he was "an avatar/dreamwalker" and it was a given? Any thoughts on this as I love getting other people's input and ideas.
