Do you remember last summer? In the heat and the haze, We danced together. Danced our lives away, Day following day... Without second thought or care. Yet, as day became strangled... Drawn away and devoured, By the encroaching chill, You stopped. No longer did music flow. Nor your feet pound. Nor your body move. You became a golem. A statue of stubborn still, Of suspended pain and memory. Frozen solid, By cold... Dark. Now... But slow, Winter surrenders. The light begins again, To force out the cold, Pushing through every pore. The flame of sol, Gently licks your skin Igniting a feelings within. At first, powerfully, but subtlely... Beginning to thaw... Suddenly, you liquidise. The cry rings out, the drums begin. Feet shatter the earth, uncontrollably. Bodies clash together, with themselves. May I have this dance?
