Check the news, apparently he is dead and the body is in US custody. Obama should be coming on later tonight to talk about it.

I'm not being so quick to believe the press and the military.

I really wanted to kill Osama, but now I won't get that chance. I guess that just leaves Hugo Chavez and Kim Jong Il. Since I have friends in South & Central America, I guess I'll go for Chavez first.

Meh.
That guy was gonna die at some point. I almost don't even care; unless further agressive action is taken, they could very well reform under a new leader who does things more efficiently.

I think this announcement will certainly bring a lot of people a feeling of "Justice has finally been done".

Take Iran for example. The US was ticked at prime minister Mohammed Mossadegh because he put Iran's oil industry under state control, so the revenue could be used to help the people and develop the country instead of just going to Western companies. So in 1953, they deposed him and put in a pro-Western dictator... who in 1979 was deposed himself in a popular revolution that put in power, you guessed it, Ayatollah Khomeini. But hey, at least oil company profits are safe, right? Chavez may already be pretty anti-US, but unless he starts talking about "wiping Puerto Rico off the map" or something, I think we have to admit it could be worse. |

Took 'em long enough. And does this mean we're finally in a post-9/11 world?
As for Kim Jong Il and Hugo Chavez, I'm with Ka'eng. Bin Laden's got blood on his hands, the others, they're just touchy sometimes. Annoying, yes, but they haven't done anything to warrant death. Being strong-armed and trigger-happy isn't the best reputation for a country to have.
