I am so ashamed to be Canadian right now.

These idiots should've just been gunned down.

So far they've:

Set several vehicles on fire.

Completely destroyed the inside of a bank

Attempted to set a hotel on fire

Destroyed and looted several busineses

And there's been some stabbings as well.

Great sportsmanship everybody.

Ahahahah, I'm a big hockey fan (can't wait for Québec Nordiques come back) and when I saw that I was like omg it's just hockey. The Bruins were better, it's sad for the fans but it's not an excuse to make a riot lol. It's just a game!

i live in Vancouver and i have to say i was like a huge amount of people was extremely disappointed by this and the rioting was started by a core group they set it off had they not the rioting probably would not have happend

I've never really "gotten" sports fandom, but that's for another topic. The most absurd thing about this has got to be the suggestion by the police chief that the rioters were organized anarchists masquerading as Canucks fans. Good grief. That's right up there with Gaddafi saying that al-Qaeda is trying to take over Libya. They may as well be blaming this stuff on aliens.

Depends, but I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand myself. Last year over here, there was one police riot against some mostly peaceful protestors (disabled people being dragged out of wheelchairs and beaten by the police, charging trapped crowds with horses) after a small group of anarchists/communists tried to turn the whole thing violent. Sadly, such people do try to do such things.
